Great stuff, I love Elvis but especially the early mostly pre-1960 stuff, although he has some good songs later. Buddy Holly is probably my favorite early rocker though, and I like Jerry Alison i think is the drummer. He did this cool thing on songs like Not Fade Away and some others where he put a small cardboard box over the snare drum - it gets a really cool sound. Anyway Dj Fontana, good stuff, amazing how much space is left in some of those Elvis tunes like Heartbreak Hotel where the silence is as much part of the sound as the instruments.

Awriiiight! Thanks! That's one of my favorites, and I hope you enjoyed it too. "My dreams are made of iron and steel, with a big bouquet of roses hanging down from the heavens to the ground!" And don't even mention The Band's backing... mm... I could get hung up on any one instrument on any one track for hours & hours...

and yeah i was being a little mean on the beatles page but i get so tired of people saying they weren't so influential, or are overrated. to me, if anything, not enough people listen to them but i am obsessed.

I've heard some of them, like that song "Christmas Time is Here Again" has some (and it's on the B-side of Free As A Bird 45!) are there more? Also - yeah Jimmy Miller, really did wonders for the Stones and he does play on a surprising number of great songs. Still love Charlie though!

It's very good! Not as great as the albums to come, naturally (Jim Keltner & Jerry Scheff are a solid rhythm section, but they're not as perfect for the duo's songs as Mick Fleetwood & John McVie), but a really fine effort all the same. Some of the songs are nearly on the level of their more famous successes later on, particularly Crying in the Night, Without a Leg to Stand On, Long Distance Winner, and Frozen Love. Musically, anyway; the lyrics (not surprisingly) aren't as emotionally rife as those on Rumours or Tusk. Have you ever sought it out, Richard?

Walls and Bridges for Lennon. I really like John's Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey songs so I count that as one album..Imagine, Mind Games are good and Plastic Ono too.. Paul I like Ram, Flaming Pie, and Band On The Run the most but he also has a lot of strong singles from Wings and such. And for George I like it all but I really love Brainwashed his last album.

I do agree with you about Lennon's songs on Pepper, Lucy In The Sky, A Day In The Life, Good Morning Good Morning..not that paul's songs aren't amazing, but lennon's are what put it over the top. I'd agree he didn't reach that peak again, but Abbey Road is pretty amazing.. I think Abbey Road has the most group effort, all things considered, and they all are at their peak musically even if it's not my favorite album.
