There's Find the Way Out, Ciao! Best of Lush, OX4 - The Best of Ride (the triple-cd box set)… Then there's Slowdive's reissues.

Maybe Kevin's waiting for a 20th anniversary of something. Yeah. That's probably it.

Haven't really been following the Silversun Pickups, but I hear they're good. Haven't heard anything from Viva Voce since their Weightless EP. Discovered them on the old-school mp3.com (when it was good) many moons ago.

i'm in CA this week and felt compelled to drive into the Tower Records in my hometown. ('specially compelled by the fact that the whole store's at least 20% off.) man, that place (and other towers in other cities) pretty much got me thru middle school and high school and college. the time i spent pouring over its import sections…

in honor of its impending demise, i got about a c-note's-and-change-worth of stuff today. definitely gonna take me a while to digest it all.

So stand-up comedian Patton Oswalt has this great bit about how the best thing a parent can do for his kids is to be a total square. (Was it Betty in the Flintstones that drew the air square, with the dotted lines? To be copied by Uma in Pulp Fiction). His argument is the best way to keep your kids from being cool is to do cool things yourself… what kid wants to listen to the same music as their parents?

only here the rules for this are the following:
a) let's fill up an 80 min cd-r perfectly. 80 minutes of shoegaze goodness.
b) try to choose a song that's linkable, either on last.fm or externally. hopefully people can hear at least a 30-second snippet or some'n
c) post the song to add, plus the time. then post the total so far and how much free time's left on the cd-r. hopefully this won't be too hard mathematically ;)
d) i won't quibble too much on what fits the genre or not. shoegaze/dreampop/ethereal lines…
