Fri 29 Jun – Melt-Banana

Openers were mixed. I caught the two bands (I assume there were only two?) before. Don't know the names. First one was a 3 piece, no vocals. Math/thrash/surf/jazz is how I would describe the music. (Actually, all that could describe a single song.) Not bad, had their moments. Next up was another 3 piece, no vocal band. Took about 10 mins to start their first song. well, i decided to dust off a track that i've been sitting on for a long time. it's meant to have some (female) vocals, but i just haven't gotten around to finishing lyrics and recording them. actually, i'd have to re-record everything because i've lost the source material. (damn!) so in anticipation of that happening some day, here's the 'demo instrumental' version.

ok, not strictly a music journal (unless you count 'the cat came back'), but i thought i'd introduce my dog, since people have commented on him :)

the dog in the avatar is moony, short for moondog. we got him as a rescue dog (apparently he was at one time paired with a female named gidget. get it? moondoggie and gidget…)

he's a basenji. hypoallergenic, doesn't bark. very regal, great posture, beautiful lines, handsome as hell, but a big trouble maker.
