I don't think I could agree more. I was talking to a buddy on a (remarkably long) car ride about how many opportunities there are out there for people that want something more than the touristy mumbo-jumbo when traveling. So many programs that cater directly to college students and recent graduates to get them doing exactly what they want.

School is just school, but it has a tendency of awkwardly defining us doesn't it? That's cool with the environmental studies. I actually took a few courses in that general area here at Auburn and originally thought I was going to pursue something similar. Definitely an interesting and increasingly popular line of study. Bravo for the volunteer program, I regret not doing something similar. The only feasible thing for me at this point is a study abroad or something similar in Spanish. Womp. This is getting a bit ramble-y here, but yes, I know exactly what you mean when there is a difference between time investment and priority.

Mostly hate but undoubtedly worth it in the long run right? haha. I actually just switched from being an English major to Communications. Who knows; we'll see where the wind blows I guess. I have a few more years still where it's ok not to know every detail figured out in regards to my life.... enjoying it while I can. What do you study?
