  • Cuddley Pillows

    Giu 18 2006, 11:58

yup..The Pillows and their 'Last Dinosaur' that song makes me r0ar..and Muse's Stockholm Syndrome.
Not really into much new at the moment, although im listening to more Pig Destroyer these days and The Pillows and NERD...urrmmmm testing out Bif Naked..cause she was on the Buffy Soundtrack hahah got the new album. cant remember the name. But i like the music although the lyrics are a bit =/ oh well I like her voice.
  • Feel that Crazy Sunshine o_O

    Mar 8 2006, 16:34

Yes, The Pillows. Saetia affect is wearing off :(, still waiting for album to arrive in the post meh.
Really getting into The Doors at the moment...bought "The Doors", then "L.A.Woman". And i'm contrasting that with Opeth again.
Geesh...I feel like I havent listened to Rasputina in too long, tis silly, and The Gathering. Slowly but surely my alt/metal side is returing. With a mix of progressive, which would include Porcupine Tree.
Im so picky about what I listen to. I can easily dislike many bands =/. Having cello's gets them on my good side. Main reasons I dont like bands are because the lyrics suck, simple as...to easy, too predictable...which Saetia is not. Well some of the stuff I yap on about can be predictable lyrical wise, and a bit simple...but the music is just great. A mix of great vocals and use of instruments...The Gathering XD. Rasputina's lyrics are too purdy to not like. And then theres Opeth, hardly any lyrics- based mainly on Blackwater Park, but just great pure and simple. I think thats why I prefer it to Ghost Reveries...too many words, no enough playing lol.

music music music! need batteries for CD player, really should consider getting an IPod, all purdy music in one place. But that would means I would kinda stop buying CD's :( dont want that now. LAst year I believe that I bought about 9/10's of my collection...so about 90+ CD's....so I believe I spent over £1000 on cd's last year. yayness. meep. I think I should slow down now -_- but so many bands to discover and love! need more Bjork cd's and Siouxsie and the Banshees and possible more of The Gathering- notice, all female vocalist, more Apocalyptica too yes yes ramble ramble. Post 90's emo/indie/screamo wotever genre it is is now long fading...bye bye Mineral, Indian Summer...Saetia are for keeps.
Yes, I welcome everything else with open arms...Busta Rhymes and Jurassic 5!!!
  • Lost in Blackwater Park

    Gen 26 2006, 16:28

I've been listening to this album quite a bit this pass week. I've gone right back into Opeth. The guitars just take me to where I wanna be right now to be honest. There arent really any lyrics, so the music suites me fine. A great Album..I just about prefer it to Ghost Reveries. Me and my other band are doing a Cover of 'Dirge for November'. Favourite track off the album, and out of everything.
But apart from that, I havent been doing much music wise. No new CD's bought, not sure why, But I need to pick up Antonoy and the Johnsons 'I'm a Bird now' and a new Jurassic 5 album.
Prog Metal is where my head is at right now, thinking of picking up a few more bands like Opeth. My need for Cello's has died a little.
But Siouxsie and the Banshees has been keeping me company.
  • Hooked on the Venus

    Gen 15 2006, 17:18

...wow, I've just noticed how much Help she Can't Swim and Christiana Aguleria (sp??) has been played. That's all my sisters doing. Gah. But oh well.
Still hooked on Saetia, Yesterday I learnt to play 'Venus And Bacchus'. It's now my second favourite song.
    1.Opeth- 'Dirge for November'
    2.Saetia- 'Venus and Bacchus'
    3.Foo Fighters- 'Generator'
    4.Johann Pachabel-'Canon in Dmajor'
I've only bought 2 new CD's so far this year, and ive had 5 given to me I think, 6 tomorrow. 3 are A Perfect Circle, 2 are Porcupine Tree and 1 is Reuben. Im just trying to listen to loads at the moment. Broaden my tastes.
The furthest ive ever branched out is Japanese Rock and Rasputina. And I'm most confortable listening to stuff like Rasputina. But at the moment, I'm really craving Heavy Metal. But ive got a friend who is supplying me with that...all is good.
