Spleen Collective on Myspace
When I was searching for some (not only) unusual or new or underrated artists in the music tagged "under 100 listeners", I found this for me very very tasty Spleen Collective. What I love most is the triphop feeling in theirs music - alltogether with that somehow nervous, somehow calming general downtempo pleasure. Oh, poor words - not only feeling, it is the solid, well born and well developed triphop I like ( But, sincerelly, Portishead still my nr. 1 :-). I really got into it just after few minutes of listening. When contemplating about it, I feel it like clearly shaped form without even a single piece disruptively sticking outside. Spleen Collective is the musical group around composer Lennart Vanstaen, grown out of what once was his soloproject Spleen. In this collective, formed shortly after Spleen’s first liveperformance in september 2009, there are Arconic (vocals, violin), Tomas Vink (keys, drums, electronica), Roel Goovaerts (bass, keys), Subtiv (visuals) and Lennart Vanstaen (keys, electronica, arrangements).
Enjoy it as I did :-) And ofcourse I know, this review is quite a non-objective ode, but - who cares…
