i think i'm gonna send off a few emails to people who might be in the know anyway so you don't need to be the font of all knowledge on it lol

i went to the music shop when i was up in belfast and i was talking to the drums guy and he informed me that the kit i've had my eye on (alesis dm6) has rubber pads... i told him that you got an all mesh kit for around 200 quid and he barely believed me... now, do you think i should do my best to find an all mesh kit or go for something like the dm6? were you just lucky to find the mesh kit on ebay? plus the transport logistics and stuff i mean you were pretty lucky... i don't really wana spend much more than 300 and would obviously prefer a good bit cheaper lol what do you say? no pressure lol

hard to say man, unfortunately i wasn't engaged enough in it, i was doing more looking about on the net than listening. having said that, i was reading this amazing thing http://www.age-of-the-sage.org/transcendentalism/emerson/essay_history.html wow heliocentric worlds would be one of his harder things to get into i think!

YES! phase one of operation make trumpet less harsh was a huge success :) only problem is now i have a bit of popping to deal with cus it's vinyl rip and jimmy cobb's ride dominates so what like a some filthy thing like a dominatrix or something... lets hope the 50th anniversary is a further improvment!

i duno, i've never noticed it being an issue on any other album... obviously the sound of a (possibly muted) trumpet is quite piercing but i have a feeling that my version has miles turned up slightly loud, either that or it's just the sparseness of that record that does it, having said all that, there are places in sketches of spain that are quite piercing and that's presumably a whole orchestra filling up that thing...
