The Charlatans UK latest release sounds really good. Added it to my want list. Thanks for the heartfelt reco ;-)

And if you've got a lingering credit to spare when all is said and done this month, this one hit wonder is missing from your listened database: Listen / Download . Consider yourself reco'd to the max this month. I'm outta here;-)

No suggested similarities found for Steve Azar. However, here's some that may crossover enough to whet your appetite in this genre: A big fan of Jimmy LaFave and emusic's got a good selection of his solo releases. Would start out with Texoma or you can grab his favorites album which also includes one of my fav songs here / download . Another fav of mine is Jesse Winchester and his last release, currently on my want list, is available: Listen / Download . And see if this tune rings a bell / download .

Just scanning thru the BEs in my collection, I ran across three more credit burners. From the hard rockin' soul of The BellRays: Review / Download to the Dutch indie rock band, Bettie Serveert: Review / Listen / Download to one of the recent comeback albums from The Bevis Frond: Review / Listen / Download

Some good psych/prog rock to be had at emusic as well. You may recall these two tracks from my Cruisin' playlist here and here / download . Or how 'bout some Fuzzy Duck from the 70's... Listen / Download . And it looks like the latest Mondo Drag s/t album I reco'd back in March is available here . Time to cash in those leftover credits ;-)

Found a few more recos that may be of interest to you. Starting out with No Depression mag's alt-country artist of the decade, Alejandro Escovedo. Check out A Man Under the Influence and download . You can't go wrong with The Go-Betweens from down under. Their last album, Oceans Apart is definite keeper in my book / download . Another fav indie rocker of mine, Mr. Steve Wynn, released a dandy fourth solo album titled Melting in the Dark which served as a great introduction to his fine catalog of music / download .

Looks like you cashed in your emusic credits this month in one fell swoop. Hope repeat spins will earn your ear's heartstring ;-) Going out on a limb that you still trust my suggestions. All that rock & rollin' you've been doin' warrants a reco to relax by. You may recall this tune from my Cruisin' playlist a few years back. Blank & Jones are a mixture of club and chill music. I prefer to chill out to their Relax Edition releases such as this . But you may also dig their trance vibe such as Monument . Check 'em out the next time your emusic credits are collecting dust.

More recos...(1) (RIYL: Black Country Communion) California Breed / Download . (2) Psych rock your thing, keep an eye out for the latest, self titled, release from Mondo Drag . Sorry, it's not yet available on emusic. But you can listen and buy their it here . (3) Or if you'd prefer to wait, some of the current members have a release from their former group, Radio Moscow , whose stoner, blues rock style may be of interest.

How 'bout a side order of some Paatos? Just gave their "Kallocain" cd a spin and it did kinda of remind me of Portishead which I know you've listened to before. Top it off with the fact that it's produced by Steve Wilson and maybe we've got the ingredients for a winning reco? Better yet, there's some samples and files to be had at emusic .

Here's an album that's been on my cd want list for a long time that may be of interest to you...it's by a band called 801. It comprises the guitarist from Roxy Music, Phil Manzanera and a cast of legendary musicians. Read review , sample album here and download here if it warrants repeated listens.

Not sure about the choice of topics on IQ's latest release titled "The Road of Bones." But the reviews intrigued me. The hidden, referenced video for the title cut sounded like it might be up your alley. If it piques your curiosity, you can sample other full length tracks here . And add it to your collection from here if turns out to be a keeper.

See you've listened to one of Opeth's death metal albums with the signature throaty growl vocals which doesn't appeal to me. But I was surprised you had not scrobbled their Damnation release with Steve Wilson on board. Much more appealing imo. Heritage is another one that Steve Wilson produces. But it was a little too heavy metal for me. Both are available at Emusic. Also ran across a blues rock video for an upcoming live release by Gary Clark Jr. If it's any indication of what the two cd album set will sound like, Joe B will have some competition come September 23rd. Check ot Clark's cover of Albert Collins' If Trouble Was Money and see / hear for yourself. Close the man-cave doors and crank it up for this one.

Need I ask if you like TP's latest.? Just ordered a hard copy online the other day which I hope to be spinning over the Labor Day weekend. Know you'll be glad when this weeks over too. What better way to celebrate than to take a one hour drive north to catch TP&HB live at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on September 7th. Here's an amateur glimpse at what's in store if you do [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KCHvPOgBQU]here .

See you've given Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers a spin or two in the past. Just a heads up that their upcoming release is very solid imo and can be streamed in its entirety till July 28th here .

Can you believe it...I forgot to mention Chilliwack in the country rock genre?!? ;-) See if these tunes don't ring a bell... Fly by Night , or Baby Blue , or [url= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0OTRFob0BM]California Girl , or Something Better . They all come from another one of my college days' fav album, Dreams Dreams Dreams .

Inquiring minds must know...how many bands does Steve Wilson play in? Answer: SIX . Title cut sounds pretty good. Saw you were listening to some Poco earlier. Couldn't resist finding some recos in the country rock genre that appear to be under your radar. Start with some other projects from Poco band members such as SHF Band ( Pick ), or Randy Meisner ( Pick ), or MC&H ( Pick ). Similar artists to follow in next post...
