Muse is quickly becoming one of the most popular bands in world. Back on August 6th 2007 Muse played Madison Square Garden as a headliner and many skeptical music critics wondered if Muse was worthy of headlining such a big venue then. They were amazing that night and have taken off since their release of Black Holes and Revelations in 2006. The band's fifth studio album The Resistance was released in 2009 and has lead to massive popularity in the USA. Already huge in Europe for nearly a decade America is finally catching onto the bands talent. This band absolutely has metal influence in their unique sound. Now leading us to the present, Muse 3/5/10 sold out show Madison Square Garden. When I say sold out I mean completely sold out all the way around the stage. We started with Sliversun Pickups an Indie rock band from LA. They started the night off well with a nice set of 40 minutes. Opening for Muse was a perfect fit for this interesting melodic ambient band and should get them a lot of exposure. Muse hit the stage around 9:15 PM. Opening the set with "Uprising" off the new ablum The Resistance. This started the evening off perfect for Muse with their fantastic stage show where the band was visible from all angles and elevated above the crowd for much of their set. The energy in the arena was amazing with a sold out crowd into nearly every track the band played. Muse played a great mix of old and new tracks and a great mix of heavy and soft tunes to keep the show interesting. I would rate the evening a 10 out of 10 and would recommend everyone see Muse at least once.
