This has been a fulfilling break for me and being the compulsive list-maker that I am..
1. Read (The Kite Runner, The Book Thief, At Large and At Small, The History of Love, Man Walks into a Room, After Dark, Sputnik Sweetheart and a few others)
2. Worked
-Telemarketing (3 days) Worst. Job. Ever.
-Telesurveyor (1 month) Routine, monotonous, cosy environment. Probably the kind of job i’d end up getting.
-Waitressing (7 days spread over a month) I’ve told people i won’t do waitressing again, but for the experience, it was worth it.
3. Sold stuff at a flea. Yay. Didn’t manage to earn much but it was quite fun.
4. Baked. Only twice and once was a half-hearted attempt with friends at my pseudo-sleepover.
5. Watched movies. I usually don’t have time (liar) but I made sure to watch Toy Story 3, Eclipse and Inception. I missed The Karate Kid and Despicable Me. Away We Go was good!
TV might as well be filled in here. ANTM petite season. I look up to Nicole. Modern Family. Hehe nice show, every single one of the characters is so hilarious and they embody their character so well, albeit with the help of stereotypes.
6. Swam. Twice. But it was an inspiring swim. Uncle Andy reminded me of how much passion is there to guide one’s path in life and I pray I can find mine soon.
7. Flew a kite/picnic. Fun.
8. Helped to lead worship for one P&P session. This is not enough, I need to find other ways to serve God.
9. Volunteered/will volunteer at YOG. Thank God that it has been alright so far. Praise God that I made many more new friends yesterday! :) There will be so many new things and challenges during the games itself so i need to take the next few days to get ready.
10. Helped out for oweek. I don’t feel as involved and I could have done more.
11. Caught up with family and friends. Thank God for each and every one of them. :) I am truly blessed to have all these people in my life who care for and look after me. I LOVE ALL OF YOU.
It has been a very packed holiday, it’s the first time this has happened and I feel so worn out. There are still things i haven’t done (short trip overseas!, more baking, the sewing task has been taken up by my mother haha, need more guitar practice) but I am satisfied with all that has been completed.
Recently, I keep telling people how it is so hard to arrange a meetup with others now, because everyone is so busy with their own packed schedule and I am really sad that as everyone gets older, we have more on our to-do lists, which just leaves less time for everything else. And not to mention the technology stuff that keeps crowding over into our personal time. Twitter, tumblr, iphone apps. Doth thy needth?
Noooo. I am my best person when I have least on my plate. Let’s work at cutting out the clutter.
