Fri 29 Jun – The Stone Roses, Primal Scream, The Vaccines, The Wailers, Kid British

As I approached the site, I could sense that this was going to be a historic occasion. The support bands were alright, and seeing Mani's successor in Primal Scream was of course something to see, but we were all there for the Stone Roses.
Rarely have I been as excited by a bass line as I was by Mani's when he kicked off "I wanna be adored". I couldn't tell how good Ian's singing was as the crowd sang louder, but it didn't matter. The entire show was set up and executed like they meant it. No song was played exactly like on the record, and many jams proved that connections as tight as between those four lads don't wither. Audiovisually and emotionally, this was a night to remember!
At least for now, the Roses are back, larger than ever, and once again four mates who truly enjoy playing together. In a world of hipsters and teenieboppers, they are genuine Mancunian legends. Go see them if you love to groove!
