Fri 2 Oct – The Cribs, Adam Green, Lissy Trullie
I must admit I have been pretty skeptical about Johnny joining the band from the start and I'd still to be won round to properly liking the new album since it had come out. I liked about half of it but thought Marr's contribution was over powering somewhat and I'm a big fan and predictably I'm rather fond of the first album. All this said I was won round after this gig. I don't know what it was but after listening to it and then hearing it live the new stuff made better sense because really The Cribs are an amazing live band who always get a crowd that's well up for it.

Was very happy with the inclusion of Direction and it was the first time they'd played it live in 10 times of me seeing them believe it or not so I was made up with that. The energy of the crowd was brilliant throughout the gig as ever. City Of Bugs was a stunning closer and is well up there with Be Safe that also got a playing late on in the set as one of their best songs.

Think I might take advantage of a friend of mine who's just gone to Birmingham University and go and see them again in December after this great performance.
