Old times

In preparation of the upcoming Oscar season, I looked up the score nominees from ten years ago. The nominees then were American Beauty by Thomas Newman, Angela's Ashes by John Williams, The Cider House Rules by Rachel Portman, The Talented Mr. Ripley by Gabriel Yared... all great scores in their own right that I like to listen to even today every once in a while. The winner of 2000 though was The Red Violine by John Corigliano, which even soundtrack buffs like myself have trouble remembering. Ironic...
