Diario → 50 Questions about my top 50 (3 months later)

Well it was interesting going through this again, only about 4 of the bands have stayed in the same chart position. That said, there haven't been many new additions to the top 50. But The Young Knives, Cursive, Peter Doherty, Radiohead and The Fratellis have all dropped out so there are five newbies in there.

Going to do this again in 3 months to see how much my tastes have changed. Will see you in January.



1. How did you get into 29? Atreyu
My friend Natalie from GCSE college sent me a song she had heard that she thought I would like, the song was Bleeding Mascara and the band was Atreyu. I did like it, and here we are.

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? Green Day
I'm gonna hazard a guess that it was Basket Case but to be honest I can't be sure.

4. What is your favourite album by 46? William Control
I will go for Hate Culture as it is currently his only solo release.

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? The Early November
I own twoThe Acoustic EP and The Mother, The Mechanic, And The Path.

7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? Babyshambles
None that I can think of actually.

8. What is your favourite album by 15? My Chemical Romance
I'd say Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge though I do really like The Black Parade too.

9. What is your favourite song by 4? Dashboard Confessional
Stolen or Standard Lines, I'd go with the former.

Me, Matt and Ringo back when we were a band rocking out to Fake Tales of San Francisco and I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor in Stayfree.

None but I'd like to amend that one day.

Hybrid Theory, but that's a really tricky choice. They are all great, including Reanimation

19. Who is your favourite member of 1? Bright Eyes
It has to be Conor Oberst but Mike Mogis definitely deserves a mention, because it just wouldn't be Bright Eyes without him.

20. Have you ever seen 14 live? The Long Blondes
Yes, twice at Birmingham Academy II but won't again since they split. Will see any of their individual projects if they come nearby though!

21. What is a good memory involving 27? Angels & Airwaves
Going to see them at Birmingham Carling Academy when it was on Dale End. Really really good gig, got crushed though!

There aren't really any that i particularly dislike.

I'll go for their debut, and so far only, album Hometowns as from that alone I have amassed well over 1000 plays in the last couple of months.

Another tricky choice, and changes quite regularly, at the moment it is Sink but will likely revert to Seventy Times 7 or Soco Amaretto Lime when the infatuation with Daisy dies down a bit.

I don't like some of their earlier metal music, but I fear that City of Evil is going to be the best album they ever make.

Down & Out does because it makes me remember love, but it can also make me sad.
