If you were able to send them as mp3 attachments via e-mail (to QHBLEND85@LIVE.COM) I'd be forever in your debt. I do think "It's a Man's World" is actually her last, great moment to date. I have both the American and international pressing, though the former is for moreso curiosity where the latter is arguably more definitive. Let me know about the mp3's, if I can send anything, let me know. Facebook is also an option (?) for me.

Do you have digital rips of "Stars" and it two subsequent Cher LPs to share? I've longed to hear them. I have to say that if you cherry pick her overall work, she has some gems. I'm kinda turned off by her more recent material.

Hello! Just wondering if you watched the episode of "Who Do You Think You Are" on the BBC starring Marianne Faithfull? I only caught a repeat of it by chance the other night. It was really interesting.

Yeh, I've been working for these reissue labels since December 2011. There was a link to my RCA overview for Diana if you want to read in the Ross '83 essay.

There's always Skype lol. I did the essay for the reissue of Grace's "Inside Story" and "Bulletproof Heart" for the reissue label Gold Legion last year' they're supposed to be out for purchase now. "Homebrew" is a great record & I am a huge Pointers fan. I also work for the label that reissued a lot of their stuff in the last few years. :)

I'll have to listen to her songs with those bands too. The one album she did as Trader Horn seems very interesting. I've been enjoying Joni's "Song To A Seagull" record.

Gosh, that must have been a strange thing to witness.. I would have been annoyed with the lady tapping her leg too, especially if she was actually making noise doing it. Tori Amos is on my "to check out" list. There's so many artists, so little time. I've got the Joni Mitchell Boxset here although I haven't listened to it yet. I can see why you were tempted by it even though you already own all of it. It's beautifully packaged. This will be a treat considering 90% of this will be new to me. Shall keep me going a long time. You should definitely give Judy Dyble a chance. I'm not familiar with her Fairport Convention stuff either. I discovered her searching through the new folk releases on Amazon. I was shocked to see she had so few listeners on here. "Flow and Change" is a very lush album. There's a song on the record that's nearly 12 minutes long. I usually have the patience of a small child but i'm fixated every time I listen to this song. Last 3 minutes are something very special.

I've yet to see anyone live (long story but basically i'm not good in crowded places). I can imagine an intimate setting would be much more enjoyable when it comes to seeing your favourite artists perform. Who have you seen live? I think i'm going to go ahead and order Joni's box set tonight from Amazon. I listened to "Ladies of the Canyon" again last night. I forgot how wonderful that album is. "Rainy Night House" is beautiful. The way she plays piano is so unmistakable. After a while, box sets start selling for crazy prices when they get harder to get a hold of. £25.00 for 10 Joni album's, it feels like i'm stealing! Have you heard of Judy Dyble? I discovered her only last night but it was one of those "Oh my goodness, where has this music been all my life" moments. Her latest album is one of the best, most sincere things i've heard all year. Several chill moments when I listened to it. Thought maybe you'd be interested as it has folk elements amongst other things.

Hi. I appreciate your taste in music.

My parents kind of have an idea of what stuff I like but I only play music aloud around them that I think they wouldn't mind hearing. Music is such a personal thing, I get annoyed when i'm forced to hear other peoples music haha. I haven't really listened much to Blondie. I should probably give her a proper listen as i've been getting into garage punk bands recently. Yeah that Joni Mitchell box set does look very nice. I've only got "Ladies of the Canyon" so i'd be getting a really good deal. I saw a programme on the BBC a couple of months back (can't remember the name) and they were showing comparisons between Joni's early songs when she originally recorded them vs how she later/now performs them. It actually gave me chills. I think these later recordings are the ones that are going to really move me but the box set is probably the place to start.

I notice you have a lot of Joni Mitchell plays. I keep eyeing up the box set of her albums that was released a while back. It seems amazing value!

I haven't been listening to Marianne for quite so long as you have. My parents were watching "The City of Lost Children" a few years back and they told me afterwards of the song in the credits of the film. They thought it would be something i'd really like and sure enough I did when I checked it out. I was mesmerised by her voice. I bought the soundtrack to the film and also "Easy Come, Easy Go" with it. That was maybe 4, 5 years ago.

You're prediction was right, I really like "There is a Ghost". I got the album the other day and it's great. One of my favourites of hers so far. "City of Quartz" I instantly really liked as well. Secret Life is probably my favourite album too. That and Easy come, Easy go, although it's a covers album, I just love it. The production and arrangements are fantastic (love the cover photo also). I hope she does another like it someday. How long have you been listening to Marianne for?

Dalida was sensational. So many tragedies in her life and she lived those moments again through song. Her live performances are some of the best there ever was. Yeah, I crave sorta rough, husky, broken voices. I love Marianne's voice especially on songs like "For Wanting You", "Who Will Take My Dreams Away" and her cover of "Children Of Stone" which is my personal favourite that she's done. Whenever Marianne sings with piano and violins, or an orchestra.. ahh it's pure bliss! I hope she does some more deluxe albums soon as well. I don't know whether to buy any more of her albums now because I want the deluxe version's if she releases them. I was gonna go for "Before The Poison" next.

Hello there! Thank you very much for the friend request. You have great library of artists, it's like a treasure chest. Marianne Faithfull is just wonderful. I recently bought the deluxe version of Broken English. It's taken me too long to hear that album. I've been listening to her for years but I was more drawn to Marianne's later recordings as I just love the way her voice has matured with time.
