and VM = Visual Merchandiser. when i first met him/pretended I wanted to sleep with him I'd often abbreviate him to 'VM boi' for the sake of friends. the misplaced sexual interest is easy to shake, but not silly shorthand.

oh Ashanti. her epoch-defining 'Shine' (ie the song she performed/emoted on an episode of The Biggest Loser) still moves me. Aaliyah who? #teamashanti. as far as am I'm aware, they're distinctly not Weegie. it's just hipsters who consciously acknowledge themselves as hipsters that are getting into a semi-orgasmic frenzy over them. not my idea of a good orgy anyway. aye, sometimes you're best staying with something for at least a month. i remember rushing to finish Harry Potter back in the day (more recently Julian Barnes' latest but it probably shouldn't count since it's a novella) but i think literature that properly resonates with you shouldn't be read in a hurry. good writing > good storytelling etc.

AlunaGeorge are 'OK'. It's like Aaliyah never died to some extent but since some Glasgow bellends on my FB are jizzing over it, i feel like i can't be as excited about it.

that sounds like the exact opposite of fun. hawnaw. how far along are you? i can just tell you can read quicker than me. today has been earth-shatteringly busy. i'll be catching up with my VM friend after work for Havana for sure. i don't know how it happened, but a Thursday is shaping itself to be my Saturday. is this weekend you're over or next? aside from technological woes, i trust you're in a jovial mood.

i'm not convinced 'carl.english' is valid so i sent the application to two variations: 'carlenglish' and 'carl_english'. no need to praise my efficiency.

'Wasylovich' is definitely more contentious than 'Lorcan'. I just want a chai tea latte with soya milk. Also, the Mitchell is farther away. Books are still being utilised, regardless of the downgrade in environment. And there's at least two moments that ought to make you scream sob in Cat's Eye. LAYTA

you so twentytwelve. i didn't bring Toni Morrison but I have the Life & Arts section from last weekend's FT and that Retromania book I was yapping about before. Library is getting dingyed for Starbucks. Pick a fake name for me to present to the barista. I was 'Josef' last time

partially yes, but partially a 'that does not make sense' panic. e-mail notifications are so so sneaky. sun lotion is fucking expensive and i even tried the ever-reliable Poundland but it felt like goose fat. when i was younger, and i had horrific eczema, i underwent Photobiology which is basically a tanning bed that's good for you. not to be self-serving but I LOOKED AMAZING. not quite at the stage of prompting another breakout but if i lose my looks, i cant deny i wouldnt. i shudder to think what i'm going to be capable of doing in my 30s but maybe i can meet a nice architect, adopt at least three Levis Jr's and teach them the art of manipulation until they're 5. this is my Plan B if this vaguely defined music aspiration crumbles. i don't like surprises. HOWEVER - on Monday a limited-to-1,000 deluxe box set of Saitn Etienne's latest arrived. my twin bought it for me knowing I didn't have money to get it at the time and it sold out in half an hour. pure teared up over it.

she co-founded the Pixies then she fronted Breeders. eazy peazy. i began Toni Morrison's latest a few weeks ago but i haven't revisited since. to be fair, i ended up falling asleep on the Green in direct sunlight straight after starting so maybe it's simply a case of bad association when i think of picking it up again. i dont tan well at all. the one i go back to far too often is one by Atwood called Cat's Eye. call it my indie-emo bible. aside from being an arresting study of the relationship between physics and memory, it also pushes girl politics to devastating effect. part of the novel is set in the narrator's childhood and it's so spot on with how nihilistic children can be as well as sinister if they're actually conscious of that nihilism. i'm bidding on 'Principia Discordia' on ebay the now for all of £0.01p. Discordianism is so inspiring/i'm developing a minor obsession with the KLF. ITS LEHVISS. Are you so Irish that 'Cah-rl' becomes 'Curl'?

bacchanlia = getting off your face. gotcha. well that sounds like a more invigorating lunch than my walk to Morrisons to deliberately undercharge myself for a salad box at self-service. one of these days, i'll get a call from the Big House. im so amoral. sorting out applciation packs and trying to update payroll ie the most menial tasks ever but i don't know where the morning has gone which can only be a good thing. ive decided to go to the library after work to look for a book by Paul Morley/sit and read. it's really bothering me how little reading i've done since taking this job and Springburn is not the most desirable milieu to be reading in. can't not be a shit writer without indulging in basically any and every non-hipster music criticism i can get my hands on (for free, naturally). i also lack the money to sit in a vegan place and pretend to be twee and best mates with my inner self. it also doesn't help the seating in the likes of Mono/Stereo don't exactly holler cosiness.
