OMG MUSIC GREATNESS

So…yesterday I stopped by the music store just to peek at things, but no real plans to buy anything besides The Best of Chillout (amazing series, btw, check it out if you're into real mellow remixes/electronic/trance etc), and I meandered through, stopping at some of my regulars such as Ani, Rilo Kiley (you never know if Live at Fingerprints/ Friends EP might show up…if Jesus really loved me), Sleater-Kinney, Nelly Furtado and (recently) Fleetwood Mac. Not a bite.

THEEEEEN I went over to Kylie's section (Kylie Minogue, for those of you not aware of my obsession with the woman) and omg JACKPOT!!!

She put out a REMIXES album (Boombox) just yesterday, as in IT IS FATE THAT I AM KYLIE-OBSESSED!!! What are the odds of me both not knowing she was putting it out (in the USA) and also that it came out THE DAY I check her section by chance. Needless to say I literally gasped and grabbed it. I probably looked like someone allergic to bees who just got stung and grabbing at an Epi-pen hahaha

Suffice to say….so worth the 15.99, and honey, I don't buy shit over 14 dollars unless their last name rhymes with "in vogue".

Here's the tracklist, and I've bolded the remixes I've already acquired through purchasing imported singles or other "best of" collections.

* = a unique remix of the song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" off of Fever, which was actually one of Kylie's only mainstream USA hits this decade. "Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head" was released on a UK single release of "Love At First Sight", which only received minimal/moderate USA popularity.
** = off of a promotional set of I think six mixes of the song "Wow" off of her 2008 album "X". Not available for purchase and only available in the UK or at the most Europe and Australia (definitely not the US), but obviously findable on the interwebs.
*** = off an exclusive Australian single release of "Red Blooded Woman". Both of the songs are off the album "Body Language" (in their original format, obviously).

As you can see: HELLA NEW MATERIAL TO GET SATURATED WITH!! Like, these are the best remixes she's put out (not that she can put out a bad one, at least not so far). That's the great thing about EXCELLENT pop artists: they're so versatile. Kylie has this killer relationship with the World music community, as you can tell from some of the names she drops in the remix credits. Not to mention the UK music scene is just so tight right now (and has been since the 1970s). Honestly, it's one of those things that truly make me happy to be human. To be able to experience this music…is phenomenal.

I don't make music…never had a real desire to, but I find that I connect with music in a way…few people I know really have the capacity or interest in having. Honestly, I feel like it's one of my passions, and it really makes me angry when people knock me for only being a music enthusiast and not a musician. It's like…stfu asshole. My passions are my passions…and you're just resentful for some reason at the joy I get from simply EXPERIENCING excellent music.

So yeah, that's my bit of music mania for today :] Please look at least one of these songs up…believe me: YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
