  • Another useless post: My track 50.000

    Gen 6 2009, 3:02

What a music freak I am. I reached the 50.000 play in Last.Fm. Coincidentally, it was a Leonard Cohen song, The Window, one of my absolutely favorite Cohen songs:

"Oh chosen love, Oh frozen love
Oh tangle of matter and ghost
Oh darling of angels, demons and saints
    And the whole broken-hearted host
    Gentle this soul..."

I don't know. I though I had to share it, somehow.

    Cheers and Happy New Year!

    Pol.

  • My eclectic score: 89/100

    Mag 16 2008, 2:59

Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

    My eclectic score is currently

    89/100

  • Ebony

Ebony now here we go, moving fast and moving slow
And my liver is in your hands, make me a bad man

I'll take you where the pigeons fly
And I'll tell you pretty lies
When nothing really makes much sense all you need
    Is confidence

  • Sonic Youth - Carpenters

    Gen 10 2007, 3:30

I still remember when the Carpenters tribute album was released.

I was inmediately and insanely hooked to it.

I played this Sonic Youth rendition of Superstar over and over again in my head and the cd player.

And then, when I saw that video the magic was complete.

Now that I find out the original Carpenters video on youtube. It's interesting to discover that Sonic Youth not only play their hommage to the song but to the video as well!

And oh that golden, glittering, haunted seventies mic

  • Hey, 2007, i'm ready to be heartbroken..

Ok, ok.. still is my favourite music video of the year..
    Long live low things!
Hey Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken

PLus>>> As a little christmas bonus...

Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken?

As for most of you, the original Lloyd Cole & The Commotions song remain a personal favourite. This is the video of the cover of the song by Sandie Shaw (yes, that Sandie Shaw, the sixties bird, the eurovision one, the Morrisey object of obsession one -she also covered Hand in Glove round that time-, the bare feet performer one....). She recorded it during her brief but brillant eighties comeback.

    Enjoy 2007 folks!!!!!
