Regarding Arthur Russell, I think the closest and next accessible is the Calling Out of Context compilation, lots of great catchy tunes of that one. That's Us/Wild Combination could definitely slot onto Love is Overtaking Me

Amazingly, it's been out for 6 weeks and we haven't talked about The Chap's new album. What do you think?

HA! Yeh... I once took someone to a gig at State 51 and they just kept shouting out "this is GREAT, it really sounds like Justin Timberlake". I didn't bring him to any more gigs. Xx

Thanks! I like what I like... you know how it is. I never saw Gable at EotR, I don't think they've played there have they?! I've seen them in London a few times. I saw The Chap at EotR though, 'twas amazing. They are an AMAZING live band.... seen them so many times now. Xx

Have recently been rediscovering all the Lo-fi Babybird stuff (Bad Shave etc) and it still sounds fantastic. Saw him live recently and he was spectacularly rude to the audience (and venue) as always!!! Yes my friend deleted herself - very sad, though thankfully unrelated to Babybird. Now I really ought to investigate some of your other sounds - most of those names mean nothing to me!!! :)

For some reason, my scrobbling has decided to fail since i bought iPhone so it doesn't show how far in the lead The Chap should be. 'Well Done, Europe' is brilliant - but this time it took me a while. Must admit I'm of the opposite persuasion with 'Gimme Legs' - i think it's definitely in the top 3 (along with '...Bars' and 'Obviously'... awesome piece of work. Thought 'Even Your Friends' was pretty weak, but it's grown on me... suppose it works on some level as a single. I think the closing pair are a bit disappointing though. Not as all killer no filler as 'Mega Breakfast' though.
