I found this pretty bad ass Last.FM tool that allows you to expand the ways that you can scrobble. It's called the Universal Scrobbler. Pretty much anytime you hear a song and want it in your library type it into the Universal Scrobbler and it will scrobble it to your profile and add it to your library. I've been playing around with the tool and have found it pretty fun. I would still prefer a Shazam type scrobbler, but this is good enough for now.

The idea is to go to the page of your number one artist, and follow the link of it's number one similar artist, then repeating that for this artist and so on, noting down each artist as you go. Do this until you've got to 50 artists. If you get any repeats, just go to the second similar artist or the nearest one that you haven't already had.

Earlier tonight I was listening to a local radio station in my truck while I was riding around thinking about what I should eat. The DJ was talking about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The topic itself brings up many problem for people in general. My personal problem with it is that it is located in Cleveland, Ohio. I understand that a Cleveland DJ coined the term Rock And Roll, but Memphis, Tennessee is the true birthplace of Rock and Roll to me and a lot of others. But that is not only part of the reason why writing this. Tonight while listening to the radio the DJ, which I believe who's show is nationally syndicated, talked about the snubs from the Hall of Fame. The thing that really opened my eyes and made me write this was that as long as the people who control the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame run the selection process Kiss will not be a allowed into the HoF. Now I am aware of the stupid remarks Gene Simmons has said recently, and if you are curious you could just search Google News for Gene Simmons and you can read them for yourself, but regardless of that KISS is a ESSENTIAL part of Rock and Roll! Even if you hate KISS you can see that they need to be in the HoF! So I propose this. A new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should be created. Personally I say that it should be placed in Memphis. The main thing we should do is to make sure that those Rolling Stone Magazine people that have lost their music credibility should not decide who is in and home is out when it comes to the Hall of Fame!

10. Rivers Cuomo

Around the end of last year the lead singer of Weezer Rivers Cuomo released an album of some of his home recordings. It wasn't the greatest album, but it was good background music while I played WoW. And thats why Rivers Cuomo comes in at number 10.

9. Dane Cook

I'm a little ashamed of this one, but I find Dane Cook funny. I think around March of the past year I decided that I was going to listen to all of his albums from start to finish on my computer. As we all know comedy albums have a lot of really short tracks. That is the reason why Dane Cook comes in at number 9.

8. Faces

One of my favorite bands of all time. A lot of people give me grief about this because of Rod Stewart is the lead singer, but this is blues rock at its purest. Stewart has a the prefect blues voice and Ron Woods's guitar is gritty. Last Christmas my parents gave me the complete box set and I have listened the hell out of it.

7. Nine Inch Nails

In 2008 one man did more to please his fans than any other artist, and that was Trent Reznor. First releasing an album of instrumental track with the first 10 tracks available for free, only to follow it up with another free album with more traditional NIN tracks.

Good old Scott Johnson coming in at number 6. This man is the creator of many of my favorite podcast. I was unaware that you could turn podcast off from scrobbling, but I didn't discover this until around the end of the year so Scott was able to grabs enough scrobbles to come in at number 6.

5. Chris Cornell

From Soundgarden to Audioslave I love Chris Cornell's music. The majority of these scrobbles come from his Unplugged performance in Sweden. Unlike the majority of people I am looking forward to hearing his new album produced by Timberland coming out in 2009.

4. The White Stripes

Good old Jack White comes in at Number 4. Although the White Stripes did not release an album this past I did begin to check out a lot of their b-sides. And did they have a lot of B-Sides.

3. The Beatles

A timeless classic comes in at number 3. Personally I can never get enough of The Beatles, and I highly expect that they will return to my 2009 list.

The first track off The Black Keys 2008 album, I Got Mine was the perfect start to a great modern blues rock album.

9.Discipline

The rumors of a new NIN album began to swirl when Reznor released this track. Personally this isn't my favorite track of this album. That honor belongs to Echoplex, but Discipline is still a great song.

8. Deliver Us From Evil

Another band releasing an album in 2008, Bullet for My Valentine's Scream Aim Fire was overall a disappointment, but it did have some bright spots and one of those was Deliver Us From Evil.

7. I've Got a Feeling

I feel guilty that I didn't know what is now my favorite Beatles track until this year. I discovered I've got a Feeling from Tesla's covers album Reel to Reel. But I can honestly say my life is better now for discovering this song.

In the first half of 2008 this was probably my favorite track of the year, but Saving Abel's Addicted quickly got old for me. Whenever it comes on the radio I will still listen to it, but it has fallen off my regular listening.
