Thanks, man. I'm quite proud of that one. I'd write more if I had the time/impetus to do so, but now maybe I will. As for knowing the Redmonster IRL, yeah, I went to Bucknell with him and know him and Cole and Dallas and plenty of others in that friend group. Heard plenty about you, but don't believe I ever met you. I've seen Redmond once or twice since graduating as I was from the Philly area, but I moved to Boston for work a year and a half ago, so haven't seen him or many people from Bucknell since. On a wholly unrelated note, we have "super" musical compatibility, so let's play a little game of musical trade. I recommend that you give Kevin Devine a listen (the album Make the Clocks Move is a good place to start). I agree with cthomas2 that you should give Brand New a listen. I'll even throw in a bonus recommendation: Moving Mountains. Trust me, I'm morgantuous.

ha thanks dude. it's funny that elliott smith and protest the hero are high on both our charts. but yeah, you should definitely check out brand new. start with deja entendu, then devil and god. then daisy. all three are great. my favorites this year so far are probably simple math, james blake, angles, the king of limbs, scurrilous, bon iver, and tao of the dead. all are great albums man.

The band you mentioned are great, I enjoy them, thank you. Now I feel pressured to give you good stuff. Im new to indie stuff, so you know most of what I know. But for the other stuff to name a few... {The Dear Hunter (not to be mixed up with Deerhunter)} {Closure in Moscow (if you like Mars Volta)} {Thomas Giles (solo project of singer of Buried and Me)} {Battles ( if you like Animal Collective)} {3 (if you like Coheed)} You can also feel free to listen to my library radio...

Oh man, I can so agree with the whole Indie Metal thing, but I love BTBAM, and The Parallax is amazing! As for Porcupine Tree...I'm in a love hate relationship with them because I can agree with both things you have heard. But what I will tell you is, they have a great sound. Not the best lyrics, pretty decent vocals, but I really enjoy their production quality. And I would hate to be wrong (like most people) but looking over your music taste you seem to appreciate what musicians have to offer, (you wouldn't happen to be one yourself would you?) it wouldn't hurt checking out the albums "In Absentia" or "Deadwing"

Hey man, you have great music taste too, Um yeah I agree about Rody. My opinion is the lyrics aren't great, but i'm more let down by how uninteresting they were sung. I think he spent more time caring about what was said than how it was said. I was let down at first, but loving PTH I kept at it, and ending up liking a lot of other things. It just took a few listens. But also agree, Arif is awesome and needs to take the chair back, he kind of stepped back this album overall (still hard as hell to keep up with him on that bass). Regardless it's nice to know that there are people with a well balanced appreciation for music, so Cheers man!

Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures.
