Thanks, for that already heard Miles' Blue in Green and really like it. Really like Vocal Jazz, Sarah Vaughan's probably my favourite singer in any genre but never heard her do My Funny Valentine, though i do have a version by Miles Davis. I'll let you know what i think of them after I've given them a listen. Been trying to get into Jazz for a while but it's so vast, not letting myself be put off, really appreciate that, thanks again.

Hey, could you recommend me a Jazz album, bearing in mind I've never really listened to any?

Alright ndigz. Yeah I agree his solo efforts have been decent but nothing amazing. Thats a good point about collaborations, however for me due to Pinata being a mc/producer collab it still felt like a solo project. Have you checked out Pinata? I thought it was dope. Definitely album of the year so far. I'd never heard of those emcees, they seem pretty dope at first look.

No, it isn't free for everyone. One of my friends in Europe was only able to listen to a certain number of tracks before the radio service was disabled for him, unless he paid for a subscription. All he could do after that was scrobble! Pretty lame, huh? I think it's only in English-speaking countries and in Germany where everything is unlimited.

Hi! Do you remember me? Anyways, I was only asking because I wasn't sure if LFM was free in your country. Where it's not free, I think users are allowed to scrobble, but not to discover new music, right?

Just got back to Tamaki so I got decent bandwidth. To be honest the One World compilation was my first exposure to World Music in a global sense. There's a huge amount of current French language African styles that seem to carry the genetics of the Jamaican/Raga themes, the big difference seems to be the strength of the vocals. The last 25 years has really brought us all together in a vinyl kinda way. Evidently the dance and club scene in the Caribbean is alive and producing new styles on a weekly basis. Its possible to check it out on web radio but its a time thing ae. I've some Senegalese and Gambian riffs on a hard drive somewhere I'll dig up. Interesting the way we humans adapt and use whatever washes our way. BTW I found Rex Kapua on SoundCloud waiting for his shout. Keen as to get my ears around his tune "the navigator".

Kia Ora Brother. Sorry for not replying but I only just got into this Shoutbox thing. Been OS working but back in Aotearoa for good so I hope to push this thing out a bit more. Waiting for the powers that be to get some cellphone and net coverage up our way but it looks like that may be some time. Xmas day chilling out watching "One World One Voice", been looking for it for years, couldn't remember the name, and finally found it on You Tube. Its worth a watch eh. A global collaboration from the early 90's tumeke , Sly n Robbie, Yellowman, Buena Vista, Savuka, Ali Khan and about 200 other artists.

If ever I have to pay to use Last.FM, I'm gone. I would definitely be using it a lot more if my laptop was working, but recently I haven't needed it at all, so I wouldn't mind using something else. Anyways I can use the new iTunes radio if I feel like it (I haven't yet though), so Last FM can shove it up their ass. Do you use LFM to discover music or just to scrobble?

Yo ndigz, Freddie Gibbs is dope as fuck, his mic presence and skills as an emecee are undeniable. I think he's got a big future, his releases with the one and only Madlib are stellar and his solo projects are decent as well. So pumped Cocaine Pinatas! What are thoughts on him?

Never heard of it! I see that they removed the radio option from the mobile Last.FM app & the scrobbler, that's a bunch of crap.

Hey, glad you're listening to Run the Jewels every once in a while, it was definitely a grower for me. I've never heard of those two but I'll check them out some time. One I've heard of is "Young Fathers", I dunno if you've heard of them, but they produce quite an original and evolved form of Hip-hop/Electronica. As to branches of the Wu-Tang Clan and Method Man, I agree they're definitely amongst my all time favourites.

Hey! What's a happening? Sorry for not responding, I haven't used last.fm much since my laptop bit the dust. I use 8tracks and it scrobbles my listening history.

Please understand I'm not looking for a grand number of contacts. I'm not even looking for complete compatibility or anything close to it, although I will/do have a commonality with some contacts that is better than low.

I'm looking for points of difference and similarity where I can enhance my own music awareness and listening experience in genre's that I have (and perhaps do not have) an affinity for. Please don't be offended if I don't add you as a contact/friend.
