    Congrats on the 1mil, quite an achievement! I hope they do something about the counter, so you can continue your quest :) I've sent you a friend request, cheers!

    Hi there! I just stumbled upon your page from reading Seederman's page, and I think it's cool that you've pushed the boundaries of what this website can handle in terms of scrobbles. One million scrobbles is really an amazing feat regardless of whether you were consciously striving for that million or if it just "happened" due to listening to large quantities of music. Have you thought at all about maybe creating a second account for new scrobbles? (I don't know if it's technically allowed, but it should be considering where you're at and the fact that you're a paid user.) The site also isn't letting me see what your top listened tracks when I go to individual artists in your charts, which is a shame because I like comparing favorite songs/tracks when I find that we have both listened to a lot of one particular artist. At least the Zappa plays are intact!

    Yeah, looks like the meter is still out. I swear, if I wasn't reliant on scrobbles, I'd ditch this pathetic site, which grows dustier and mustier with each passing year... I see a lot of my favorites on your list, leaning towards the indie/punk side of the spectrum. Anyone who appreciates the Gun Club has to be OK in my book ;-)

  • Seederman, like, or wanna hear again.... ;-) Sorry to hear your counter is stuck, that really sucks... If won't scrobble, then it is truly useless... Keep after them to fix it, they need something to do all day. I can't see your taste-o-meter, either... Good luck!

    Hello moik. Congratulations! Listening the artist Антон Зацепин You won the 2014-07-18 KBS!'s round. Also you found, apparently, a new artist for most of our ears! Thanks and have a great day!

    Hello! You wrote to someone that you "don't use a bot", but it is somewhat hard to believe. When yoy say that you 'add' new artists, does it means that you just click to add a song or you actually listen through? Looks like you should be unemployed or on a rent to get that high number of artists haha - I'm addicted to collecting too. PS I remember how I was scared of some punk rockers(they looked frightening with those hair) when I went to our biggest city around 1986 in my early teens. Cheers!

    I've always loved psych music, but it's become more of a main focus for me over the last couple of years. It's nice that this event is close enough for me to feasibly go. You should look into it!

    Seven-hour drive, at least two sharing gas. We're going to miss the Friday lineup, but can't leave any earlier. Flying wouldn't buy that much more time, considering getting into and out of airports. Plus I'll be riding with a close friend who loves music. Middle-aged road trip! Whooooooo!

    Looks like I might get to go to the Austin Psych Fest this year. Haven't ever been a big fan of outdoor festivals, but this one seems cool enough and small enough that it's likely to be fun.

Update: I was looking forward, for the past couple of years, to hitting a million scrobbles; but now that I have I am actually sort of disappointed.

It took me eight and a half years to reach a million, and it was a lot of work getting my number of unique artists in my library over 100,000; but now, about two days after renewing my subscription (yes, I am a paid user), I can barely even use I can't add any more scrobbles, my recent tracks are stuck on November 19, 2014, and my play count will go up to about 1,000,200 or so and then resets back to 1,000,000. I can't see any recent tracks (except the currently playing track, which goes away in about a minute), or add any more artists.

Basically my page is now static - stuck in time.

So now I'm trying to remember - why did I renew my paid subscription? How many more times am I even going to look at the same unchanging page?

I can still add to "Loved tracks," I can still see who visits my page, and, wow, no advertisements! Evidently other people can see my last ten tracks, but when I am logged in, on my own page, I can only see my one most recent track and my last nine tracks from right before I hit a million scrobbles. And no - I do not want to reset my account to zero scrobbles - it took a long time to get here.

+++++original profile+++++

born in chicago - late 1959, i am one of the original late seventies / early eighties punk rockers (a fan, that is, i was never in a band and i am not famous). i was one of about 5ive punks at my college in winona, minnesota back in 1977 - 1981 . . . and believe me that was sort of a challenge. now i'm a doctor in a small town in oregon. i try to listen to the old music as well as listening to new music from the nineties and the 2000's. my itunes is playing 24 hours per day (often i'm not listening) and i use my ipods an awful lot since my hobbies are long distance running and bicycling. several years ago i used to maintain three extremely popular websites about the minutemen, sonic youth, and charles bukowski until my LAME-ASS ISP lost my domain and my url ( was hijacked. so now i have moved on to other diversions. i play guitar, participate in all available outdoor endurance sports, and am interested in traditional irish music as well as punk and subsequent genres. drop me a line sometime.
