The summer line up of shows is crazy good! I'm excited to finally have access to all of that - Houston was ok, but a pain for me to drive for every show. Yeah, so we're moving up there like May 13th. I got a job, but my girlfriend is still searching around. What you said about it being easier to find a job after we move made her feel better, because it's been a rough road for both of us being out of staters. Anyway, yeah, see you at that Agalloch show in Seattle! I can't believe I'm finally getting a chance to see them.

You're alive! I haven't moved yet, we're currently working on it. I plan on moving to Olympia, but I'm trying to secure a good job first. It's a little more difficult than I had expected, but once I hear back on something, I'm coming to Washington for sure. We'll definitely have to meet up at some shows and a have a few drinks. Are you enjoying the move?

I see you've discovered Stabat Mater. I've some ambivalence about that project, but the part on Crushing the Holy Trinity (Father) and the split with Worship are especially good.

'You Do Not Own Your Own Head' has an interesting relevance to L'Acephale. In my neighborhood earlier tonight I noticed a female Buddhist practitioner. By the tradition her head was neatly shaven.

Listening to 'Terminus...' in my classroom. The lights are out, and the shades drawn three quarters. All six of my windows are opened, and a gentle rain falls outside. Ah... About Japan, airfare is actually expensive (over 300 USD). The chance of taking a ferry remains. I believe there's also a ferry to China, with a train or bus to Shanghai. Class now. Will write more later.

Wait, bite- rather than byte-sized pieces? Something will consume them, as if by eating? :)

Until Death Overtakes Me. Four years ago this may have been among my top listens here. I discovered the project's name in that infamous wikipedia article, where they were listed among -definitive- funeral doom. None of that 'dirge doom' ambiguity ;)

Oh wow, tell me how that chiptune show is. I've never been to one and can't even begin to imagine what it'd be like.

If you miss any of those shows you have listed for September you should hate yourself, or alternatively, I'll hate you. The only decent thing to come to Houston lately was Gordon Lightfoot, and I missed it. How will I ever learn of semi-famous shipwrecks and different varieties of flowers?

;-) Typing with one hand as I soak the left elbow in cold water. That sequence of words struck me on this particular listen. Once done treating the sore arm I'll go look up those words of the title. Also, I hope I did not confuse you in deleting the comment I posted in mention of Dispirit; I felt I hadn't phrased so well what I meant to say, yet it wasn't so muddled to justify posting a revision.

Hullo M. I finally did listen closely to the Solanaceae record, and what struck me most are the lyrics. Although Kim's native language is presumably Danish, he's a great English-language writer! In regard to this, do listen sometime to 'Ragnarök', a Sonne Hagal song on which he sings. As regards novemthree, I'm not so familiar with the whole of what he has recorded, but the split with Arrowwood is subtle yet memorable.

Just a heads up, Boris is waaaaay awesome live. Save up a lot of money too, because they have like all their releases, cool t-shirts, super stylin lady handbags [/bought one], and Boris ear plug cases. Oh and the music was good. Atsuo had the best sequin vest I've ever seen on a japanese man.

Indeed... :) I don't own any of the original copies of NSB. I have seen some of them floating around on ebay a few times, and they weren't exactly cheap.

Ah, you may well like Arrowwood, then. It is a music project based out of Washington. Kim has apparently collaborated for a forthcoming release. I've listened to the Solanaceae record only twice now. I too am especially fond of the atmosphere or aura, though to appreciate the complete progression of the record I need to listen more closely. The family of plants with the same name is interesting in relation to the music: agricultural/ wild, medicinal/ toxic.
