Hey Jonathan! Well, it's sure been ages since I last replied :/ Work has definitely kept me busy, but then most days, after work, I rarely feel like doing much else of anything productive, so I'll end up kinda lazing around :( I work as a computer technician, by the way. I'm assisting with a large-scale computer deployment project in a local school system. I started that in July, and it looks like it may last at least until December something. It's only a contract job, but it's tiding me over while I'm still looking for permanent work. Anyway...that's awesome, about you growing in Truth this past year, and forming new mentoring friendships. As for me, I feel kinda blasé spiritually, to be honest. And that's even with going to church with my roommate in recent months :/ I don't know. After getting burned by a few key people in the past year, I guess I've made myself less vulnerable, and having so much stuff to do has facilitated that. I'm less happy with myself than I was a year ago :/

Hey Jonathan! Yeah, it's been a long time. The past year has been quite eventful for me! It hasn't all been good, but things have definitely been looking more up in the last few months. Anyway, how are you doing? What's new for you? As for the site you mentioned, I sure have seen it already, haha. But I'll need to go over it again sometime! I am so behind on keeping up with music lately, haha. I'm working now, which cuts quite a bit into my free time. But earlier in the year, before I was working, I was rarely well enough to keep up with anything music-related, either. So now, I'm nearly a year behind on my charts... Haha, I don't know how I'm gonna catch up! Somehow I will though, eventually... Anyway, thanks for the shout! It's so cool to hear from you, especially since I actually thought of you the other day! A work client told me she was wanting to visit Canada (or she may have said she originally lived there), and I said I have a few long-distance friends in Canada! Haha, nice :)

And a Grooveshark user, no less! Adding you there, too. Cool?

Amazing -- It's been some time since I've seen a "SUPER" on the music compatibility meter, haha. Fold Zandura, Aleixa, Sixpence, Fleming & John in your top 20 artists? Tracks by Leslie Phillips, Edie Brickell, Lisa Stansfield, Mutemath, Falling Up, Sarah Jahn in your recent history? Man, I want to listen to your last.fm library radio station. Cheers.

Hey Jonathan! Thanks for the reply. Things are going okay with me, not too great, but I keep trying to push on. The project my friend hired me to do before has stalled...he's busy, and I guess he just has a hard time keeping in touch with me about the project or anything else. Not too surprising, unfortunately. I get the impression that people around me have a way of telling me about some project or other opportunity, only for efforts to be constantly delayed...if they even materialize at all. Well, I'll try to call him within the next few days, and see if I can find out what's going on. Aside from that, not much else is going on... I actually got sick with dental troubles earlier, so that's set me back somewhat, but I'm doing better now, so far...gotta watch even more what I eat, though (not just sweets, haha, but bread products have apparently contributed to the mediocre state of my dental health too). Well, enough about me. Anything new with you? Hope you're doing well--take care!

Thanks for the recommendations! I listened to Fleming & John several years ago and remember liking them, I should check it out again along with the others. As for your CCM pop-punk search, there were three record labels that always stuck out to me so I will list some artists with each and hopefully that will help you out! Bettie Rocket Records - noggin toboggan, war rocket ajax, watashi wa, shop 11 phoenix, and sick of change. Screaming Giant Records - average joe aspiring, broken cedars, lugnut, and twotimer. Tooth and Nail Records - the undecided, too bad eugene, hangnail, ghoti hook, and mxpx (of course).

[Cont.] I've also gotten involved lately with Github...any chance you're familiar with that, haha? It's for "social coding", for hosting software projects that are open to anyone for comment and revision (via "forking" one's own copy). I adopted someone's script I found for converting gradient graphics (CSS3, as seen on my music website, for instance), into SVG gradients for browsers not supporting the latest CSS3, like Internet Explorer 9. I've greatly expanded the script to do far more than is possible with any remotely similar tools I've seen, such as batch conversion of hundreds of gradients (!). Yeah, I needed to do that for IE9, for an upcoming feature on my site...well, that'll be something else to go on my resume! If you're curious, check out my ongoing work at https://github.com/kmhcreative/css2svg Someday, the stuff I do will make me decent money...someday. Well, it was nice to hear from you, Jonathan, and I hope you have a wonderful week! Take care, and God bless.

Hey Jonathan! Thanks for the reply, even if it took you about three months, haha. Sounds like quite a lot has happened, and I'm sorry. Well, may you and everyone else touched by the difficult events continue to rest in the peace of God. Anyway...not much has changed in my situation, actually. Progress on taking that job opportunity I told you about before stalled out a long time ago, and I don't know if or when it's going to happen. However, the same friend has hired me long-distance to build a website for him, so, I'll be doing that for a modest payment (hey, every bit helps, and it's something that can go on my resume/portfolio later).

Thanks a lot! I'm always looking for new music of all genres so that would be great. You've got impressive charts yourself and a great taste for music! Nice to make your acquaintance.

Hey, Jonathan! Just getting back to your message now...It's been a long week, and not a great one. I'm clearly at odds with my family now regarding the job opportunity I've mentioned a school friend is offering me. They're against me taking it (because of the low pay), while I can see past the money situation to see that this could be a decent stepping stone toward better-paying work later. I'm at a point in my life where I should be able to make certain choices for myself, you know? Some point eventually, I'm gonna try discussing the matter with them again, and enlist my friend's help as well...I do believe this opportunity is what God would have me do... but now, to convince my family of that...ha. Keep me in prayer about this! Well, as for Lindsey, yes, I went to her motivational speech, and it was great! She spoke a testimony about her life, relating it to a few of her key songs (which she played too--"Song Of The Caged Bird", "Transcendence", and "Crystallize").

[Continued] Anyway... yeah, 2012 was just not the year that I hoped it'd be. But, things are looking up so far. I mean, I have that job opportunity pending (as well as the chance to live with a friend who wants to help me get up on my own feet in the "real world"), and I'm overall in the best mood I've been in, in so long. Getting to meet Lindsey was such a huge boon to my state of mind! I didn't think it'd happen so soon, haha. The day before I met her, she played in Atlanta, and I couldn't make it, because tickets sold out long before I decided "okay, I need to see her live!" Plus, I didn't have my license at the time, and I figured my family wouldn't take me anyway, haha. But, I ended up getting my license the week of the show...and then I learned the day after it, that she was staying in GA an extra day to speak/perform that night at a church fairly close by! So of course, I took that chance and drove myself to see her...my first time going driving solo! It was an exciting night :)

Hey Jonathan! Glad to hear you're doing well, and glad you got that job! Me, I actually have a job offer from one of my friends I went to college with, to work alongside him at the church he works with--I would be over their website, social media, etc. Sounds like something right up my alley! Only major concern is, though, is that it won't pay much to begin with, and my family has expressed their reservations about the idea of me moving down to live with him and take the job. So, I have a lot of praying to do in these coming weeks. You can keep me in prayer if you don't mind! Pray that I make the best choice regarding this. ...I also have work I've been doing on the side for others online (website setup/maintenance/etc), that I'm trying to scale up...so, as that grows, I don't think I'll be hurting for money too long, but still...I never know. I just know things need to change in my life, and I know a change of scenery at the very least, would help me out. [To be continued]

Hello, Jonathan! Long time no speak (and I mean really long time, haha)... I've been quite busy these last months, but I figured I'd finally log on to LastFM tonight :P Anyway, how are you doing? What are you up to these days? I'm keeping this short for now, but let me leave with a music-themed question :) Have you ever heard of Lindsey Stirling? She's the girl in my new profile pic, and she's an amazing violinist and singer! I just found out about her myself 2 months ago, and she has quickly taken my music charts by storm. I'm still keeping up with my site, by the way...haven't been able to do near as much with it as I want yet, but I'm slowly making progress! Well, take care and have a wonderful rest of the week! Talk to you later.

Well! After a few more weeks of issues and delays (what else is new, haha), I think I'm finally ready to let you preview my new site! Check your inbox for the link and more details :) How are you doing? Did you have a good last two weeks, haha? Wow, I can hardly believe, I'm finally approaching the time I'm ready to share my site with the world...it's such an odd feeling, when you're getting ready to share something you've worked on quietly for the last several months, and you're not quite sure if all the time and effort has been and will be worthwhile...do you ever feel that unsure? Well, I hope all's going well, and that you have a great week. Look for my message! :)

That's cool, how you enjoy photo/graphics work. I've never been into it much myself, but of course, I've had to do some of it during my website work. Paint.NET has been my main go-to tool for this. It's only for bitmap images (like JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.), and so, you can't work with vectors (natively, at least.) I read somewhere that Paint.NET has no plans ever to support vectors, and that Inkscape is a recommended tool for vector work--that's how I found out about Inkscape. So, they are two different tools for different purposes, though I feel Paint.NET is easier to pick up...It took me a while to figure out how to use Inkscape for editing SVG, but, it ended up not really not helping me. Finally, as for the rest...that's good, how you've enjoyed the Olympics...I just haven't found time to get it. Too bad for me, I guess... well, is there anything interesting of the remainder you think I should try to see? Or is it not worth the effort now, since I've seen none of it so far, haha?

After a while of trying to troubleshoot the problem on my own, I finally opened a tech support ticket...let's hope this host actually responds to me, and promptly at that. Uggghhh...I swear, every single step of the way in this journey of making (now uploading) my new Website, has been a hassle in some way or another...and I'm sure the "fun's" not done yet! I've got a few more potentially challenging steps I need to do before I consider the site ready for public viewing... I just want to be done, haha...I'm tired! :P Now, ranting aside... once I'm further along in my final steps (i.e., the site actually displays acceptably, at least), I'll give you a link to it. And now, to reply to your messages... see my next message for that! :P

Today has been a rare rotten day, technologically speaking, at least...since I was delayed in uploading my web site, I figured I'd go ahead and create the latest week's charts--what a hassle that turned out to be, as quite a few ugly bugs dared to rear their head. Every step of the way in the charting process, I ran into some sort of trouble--annoying! It's been over half-a-year since I implemented my new charting system in Excel/Access, and I'm still dealing with bugs...usually, it's one or two minor issues a week, but this week's was just crazy. Then, this evening, I finally got my site uploaded to the Web...the actual upload process went fairly smoothly, minus a stumble in getting my Wordpress database imported. However, major issues cropped as soon as I tried to actually access my site. I can't get my styling (CSS) to load properly! It's a technical issue I won't bore you with the details with unless you're curious, haha, but it's sure frustrating! (continued...)

Wrapping up my thoughts from before, what's been your fave Olympics event / highlight / whatever? I haven't watched any of it -- just haven't really cared, haha. Finally, that's cool about the art programs. I actually experimented with Inkscape during the course of my site design, using it to try to create/edit some SVG. I ended up using nothing from the program, but I still have it tucked away on my computer, in case I think of another use for it in the future. I've been more of a fan of Paint.NET--I use that for some basic image editing from time to time.

And now, to reply to your message! Glad you've been enjoying your summer--ha, mine has kinda flown by due to work on my site. I'm not exactly proud of that--I would've loved to balance out my time better (or of course, spend less time on this altogether), but at least, once I get this thing up and running, I can shift into a "maintenance phase", where I only make regular updates/fixes, and not spend whole days on creation/debugging/etc. ...How do you feel when you finish some big project? I'm having mixed feelings in my case, actually...well, my sluggish mood of late may be tainting my perception...so far, I'm only thinking of this as just one thing to check off, on a long to-do list... I'll see how I feel in the coming days/weeks. Anyway... I'll have one more message to finish out my thoughts shortly...

Well, as is usual for me, I've run into more delays regarding my Web site. I was ready to put it online yesterday, and in fact was getting ready to start uploading my files, when my upload connection went out. Not long after, I opened a ticket on my web host's customer support section, and...over 24 hours later, I haven't heard a thing back. So much for 24/7 support, eh? Haha. If and when they do respond, they'll get a piece of my mind, that's for sure--if my site were already live, this down time with no prompt explanation would be inexcusable. I've already jumped ship to another web host that appears to have a better track record of uptime, and better support (I even scored a good deal, too!). Tomorrow evening at the earliest, I should be finally uploading my site (may wait till Monday or Tuesday--I'll see) -- after I upload though, I'll let you know about getting to check it out!
