what's your favorite local band/group?
Mine (Awful Lot of Tigers), but if we're talking bands who have actually played live or sold albums, my favorite New York band right now is…I guess Sonic Youth. Though I'm just as close to Montreal, and my favorite band there is The Dears.

Adam Franklin (of Swervedriver) at the EARL (East Atlanta Restaurant and Lounge) last fall
what was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Pink Martini with the Dayton Philharmonic was pretty great. delirious? puts on a great worship concert, as I've witnessed four times.
what's the worst show you've ever been to?
I went to see Pony Express and Map in Oklahoma City years ago, and only Jeff Cloud showed up. It was still cool, though.
what's the most musically involved you have ever been?
My wife and I are a band in which I write and play all the music. I play guitar in a band at my church often, and I used to play keyboard for another church band.

I finally got rid of my Swervedriver shirt recently. It was too big. I got it on eBay. Used to wear it a lot, though.

Swervedriver. Adam, quit messing around and get back to the rock 'n' roll. Save us from all the drudgery out there.

what was your last musical "phase" before you wisened up?
Before internet radio hit big, I was into Britpop and trip hop, like many music fans in the late '90s. I was really into Bush, too. But also Starflyer 59 and Swervedriver, so it wasn't all bad.

what's your "guilty pleasure" that you hate to admit to liking?
Grunge, the Flaming Lips, club music, anything smelling of mainstream
