Nicolay's new "City Lights Vol. 2: Shibuya" is not what I expected. It's very laid back, almost new age. It fits somewhere between Larry Heard's Alien and Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

I'm still liking Joy Jones' Godchild. It has a nice soulful, quirky quality to it; a more urban version of Nicolette, if you will.

Kimberly Nichole is an independent pop/soul/rock artist (ATL holla). I'm not even sure I should use those genres. There's some of everything on her debut album The Yellow Brick Journey. My current fave is "Carnival". Here's a (very) short clip of her performing "Little Girl New".

Madonna has (yet another) greatest hits collection. And for some reason, I'm really liking the new track, Celebration. The song featuring Lil Wayne, not so much.

Smooth soul (and fiercely independent) vocalist, Eric Roberson returns with Music Fan First. It's not my favorite by him. But I don't think he can make an album devoid of hot tracks. My current fave is Borrow You.
