Were you just chillin' on the street this morning, around 05:40 AM?

That sounds about right. I've always admired bands that are able to change their sound from album to album... and I really think Radiohead has led by example, in that regard. It's tough to stumble across a band's shoutbox where someone doesn't insist that "[blank album] is their OK Computer", or Kid A, etc. I know they generate a lot of hype - and are probably even a little overrated, all things considered - but they're so influential that it'd be tough to Not give them a chance. // Also, thank you. It's kind of a work in progress, and I'm not 100% sure how easy (or difficult) it will be to keep maintenance on... but I think it has potential.

Oh, well, just to clarify... my Radiohead trinity has always been In Rainbows / The Bends / Pablo Honey. For the longest time, really. Amnesiac and HTTT are solid albums all around - and I do enjoy them - but I've read ridiculous amounts of praise for OK Computer and Kid A. It took about three or four listens, but the beauty behind OKC finally dawned on me. Just have to make the leap to Kid A. I've heard that once it does grow on you, though, it's almost guaranteed to become your favorite Radiohead record. Go figure.

And yet hardly enough, amirite? I actually had an epiphany, last week, and finally realized how great OK Computer is. Just need to completely warm up to Kid A and I'll be set.

Then I think you've found a winner. I haven't had mine long enough to vouch for months+ of playtime. But it seems to be a quality turntable, for sure. I presume that you'd get plenty of life out of it, should you keep both it and your records clean.

I recently picked up a player by Audio Technica (AT-LP60) for pretty cheap. I did a bit of research, and it seemed to fall in the sweet spot between budget and quality. I'd like to eventually upgrade, someday, but for now it suffices quite well.

I respect the diversity of tunes. I don't recall you mentioning anything of TAITA, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I didn't know if they were something up your alley, necessarily, but I'm relieved to hear you found at least some appreciation in their music. You're quite right; they really are a unique group, and definitely provide an enjoyable listen when nothing else seems to do. Have you listened to the new Arcade Fire yet?

Ha, yes indeed. You're the first one to recognize it. Best icon ever.

Just wrapped up a full night-shift. Got home and lurked Last.fm for a bit. Stumbled across your page and - after rubbing my eyes, and affirming that this is indeed reality - it Still appears as if you've been listening to N.W.A. Was your account hacked? iPod stolen? Ethnicity scrambled?

...Are you at all familiar with The Airborne Toxic Event? I think they've only got one album out, but every time I listen to it, I become a little more confident that it's right up your alley.

Also. I've been hearing decent things about Mew, but haven't even given them a sample listen. Yay or nay? Are they similar to a certain artist I could relate to?

Haha. Thanks, I guess. I sometimes get pegged as a trend-whore for only buying modern LPs. But what can I say? -- I'm a sucker for great albums on wax. // I don't see too many Arcade Fire plays in your library, but they've been growing on me exponentially. 01/05 artists we supposedly have in common.
