I used to listen to stuff like Mogwai and Explosions n The Sky a fair bit. Also 65DaysOfStatic etc. I am Benji obv., I live in Pert, its kinda cool, kinda boring and I am at university doing community development. Apa kebar? I like rap, a lot.

Yeah, just left you an epic post with heap of big words but it did not work, thanks Telstra ADSL2. FML. Brief recap, "awe-inducing" and "braggadocios-laden" were some of the phrases I used. Yeah, Geto Boys are a good place to start I guess, for southern rap, but I have only just discovered the genius that is E.S.G.'s album "Sailin' Da South". Get it and probably get the chopped and screwed version as well. For gritty "braggadocios-laden" (hehe there we go) street rhymes, it is hard to overlook Big L, Black Moon and of course Onyx, and Illmatic, the first album from Nas also captures that 1994-ish NYC attitude (think the black dude getting trucked in Kids), but later Nas stuff is more and more derivative from his Hip-Hop roots. Also, his dad plays oboe on the album, DOPE. So, tell me about your life? Alternatively, recommend some cool "indie" or "folk" music that is not like Vampire Weekend or Bat For Lashes.
