Wow.

2 years I've spent at this place. Barenaked Ladies are still my favorite band. No surprise at all.

I was looking forward to manually figuring out these statistics, but I recently discovered Greasemonkeys, and downloaded Firefox, so it's not even necessary. Here we go, my current top artists:

01) Barenaked Ladies @ 6486 plays / 11.62%
02) Radiohead @ 3939 plays / 7.06%
03) The Smiths @ 2413 plays / 4.32%
04) Brand New @ 2028 plays / 3.63%
05) Jason Mraz @ 1609 plays / 2.88%
06) The Lilac Time @ 1296 plays / 2.32%
07) The Beach Boys @ 1284 plays / 2.30%
08) Guster @ 1258 plays / 2.25%
09) The Magnetic Fields @ 1150 plays / 2.06%
10) Counting Crows @ 1105 plays / 1.98%
11) The Decemberists @ 1063 plays / 1.90%
12) Brian Wilson @ 1053 plays / 1.89%
13) Old 97's @ 914 plays / 1.64%
14) Modest Mouse @ 733 plays / 1.31%
15) Regina Spektor @ 711 plays / 1.27%

Predictions? I think my BNL plays will drop. I remember calculating their percentage about a year ago, and it was up at 17. Bands up on the rise within my charts:

Rilo Kiley, American Music Club, Elvis Costello & The Attractions and Elvis Costello, Say Anything, and Bloc Party. And maybe Taking Back Sunday, The Velvet Underground, Talking Heads and Violent Femmes.

And then...the recurring problem that I have yet to solve in its entirety: harddrive space. I need it. So, here's a list of artists that I really think I would really enjoy, but frankly haven't had the harddrive space to check them out, but they are on the top of my list, and in a year I think I'll be a fan:

Against Me!, Cursive, Billy Bragg, and Daniel Johnston.

Resolutions? Listen to more hip-hop, and start listening to albums when they come out, at least sometimes. I also have a new project in my mind about hunting down albums by all the artists featured on The OC every week, but that will have to wait until I have THE SPACE!

It's been cool. Last.fm hasn't really exposed me to any artists, rather it's given me the incentive to not sit around and listen to Barenaked Ladies all the time, which, as much as I love doing, doesn't help me understand their music any better, nor does it push me forward in my (all of ours) never-ending journey of musical discovery.

Tracks played: 55804
Tracks per hour: 3.182
Tracks per day: 76.367
Tracks per week: 534.567
Tracks per month: 2367.368
Tracks per year: 27874

If the rolling 3 month chart would ever update, I think Brand New would be #1. They've been in heavy rotation lately (and will be for a while with the new CD). I have some TBS (that entire sentence was in the wrong group! good thing it was spotted), but the only album I have immediately accessible is the 2nd one. The others are on an external that doesn't exist anymore. Oh, one day :)

I'm just commenting because of Daniel Johnston....and only that because It is my name.....lol.

I definitely second the get a new HD sentiment. You can get an external enclosure and then a drive (size of your choosing) for relatively cheap. Here is a 250GB drive and enclosure for a hundred bucks. I have that exact drive (different enclosure) and it's done wonders for my music collection. Congrats on two years! I'm looking into Brand New per your recommendation, thanks. And did I mention my jealousy about your attendance on the Ships and Dips cruise?

My huge problem with the space is that I HAVE an external drive, but I can't friggen WRITE to it. I bought one last year when I was using a PC and it was great, and now I'm not using a PC; I'm using a Mac, and I have no idea how to format my drive so I can write to it. I can only read, and I can write TO my mac from the external, but not vice versa. I brought my problem to Stables and (OF COURSE) they're clueless. The problem is cyclical, as the other problem is that my CD drive is broken and I need to get it fixed but I won't get it fixed until I can back up everything on the Mac drive as they make you send it in and there's a chance that they'll wipe your harddrive. So, in essence, other than my BNL USBs, I have absolutely no way to get files OFF of the Mac computer. I want to write Apple a thousand hate letters. Brand New = awesome. They're in my top 5, maybe 3, favorite active bands. Let me know how you make out. And...you should enter the Scooter contest Guster's hosting. Haha.
