Ash are no longer going to write albums. A confusing statement really, especially when echoed off a festival stage as this effort here being 'our final album'. That gives the impression that they're splitting up.
A very sad impression, for Ash are seriously fantastic. A teen pop punk machine in the truest sense, since 1994 they have been sending us mere mortals 100% unprocessed, unfiltered, pure punk-pop. With emphasis on the P.O.P

1) The Flaming Lips
Got The Soft Bulletin and have to say…
I'm blown away.
Symphonic pop, off-kilter genius and a whole lot of journalistic hyperbole can't disguise how utterly odd this record is. Waiting For A Superman especially is one of the best songs of the decade…
But you already knew that ;)

2)Cat Power
The Greatest and The Covers Record have been soundtracking these miserable summers, but i don't mind- fine soul music, especially Living Proof and the heartbreaking I Found A Reason.. *sniff*

Having finally ventured down to Fopp one rainy Sunday inbetween trying out cheap guitars at Penny Lane music and 'dining' in Pizza Hut, i have completed my Spiritualized collection. Well, at least the recorded stuff.

Pure Phase is easy to categorise as the mid-point between full-on Rock and Roll and Gospel widescreen-epic Ladies and Gentlemen and the fuzz of Lazer Guided Melodies, and not just because it came in the middle.
