Haven't written in ages. Picked up some cool stuff recently. Blu-ray of Chemical Brothers' Don't Think, the My Bloody Valentine remastered, English imports of EPs and Isn't Anything, Billie Holiday's Complete Columbia Collection, and a near-mint 1972 used Ella Fitzgerald singing Rodgers and Hart Songbook on vinyl.

That's how long I clocked the 'holocaust' section of You Made Me Realise tonight.

Of the 4 times I've seen mbv, this was definitely the loudest… and that's saying a lot!

I laughed out loud (of course, I couldn't hear myself), when a girl was trying to talk on the phone during the jet engine phase.

The vocals could stand to be nudged up in the mix, but overall, I thought it was a great show. I think it's amazing how full a sound they get from mostly just Colm, Debbie, and Kevin…

Geez, stereolab… of all the songs you actually could have kept short (i'm looking at you, jenny ondioline), you instead fade out valley hi! just as it gets a full head of steam! argh!* a lost opportunity on what could have been a great crescendo. any other too-short songs out there?
