i haven't given her a thorough listen. my gf d/l-ed the album. but 'anything could happen' is pretty catchy, and her vocal style is interesting. my feeling is it's not my kind of top-40. too weepy, not dancey.

hello ronald. if ever find yourself on a VU kick in the near future, you should download the Quine Tapes! they're really astounding, and include three versions of sister ray totalling i shit you not 1.5 hours, and a supremely relaxing version of waiting for my man. VU gets better every time i listen to them.

I like how you are the ideal music lover - you consume albums, not songs.

i'm using my free leech tokens for stuff that's unlikely to be downloaded by others (say, disco not disco, at 4 downloads per month). what about you?

"Back in the days when I was a teenager / Before I had status and before I had a pager / You could find the Abstract listening to hip hop / My pops used to say, it reminded him of be-bop / I said, well daddy don't you know that things go in cycles / The way that Bobby Brown is just ampin like Michael" - Tribe Called Quest

i noticed that too! nice top artists for this week too, as usual. btw i accidentally lied: the rough guide is where you should start w/etoile. vol. 1 is too rough around the edges, and it misses their most exciting song, diokhama say ne ne.

oh yeah, so, which field album do you prefer? any reason for it?

nah i'll find it--there can't be that many web-based automated music generators out there. /// 'you' by gold panda is really great, glitch-pop that reminds me of the field were alex willner more into songs and melodies rather than ambience and soundscaping. /// on that note, i have a new-found adoration for 'from here we go sublime,' barring the title. can't explain what did it, i think the mood just resonated with me, combined with realizing that the opener was more varied than i had ever imagined.
