Sorry for my terribly tardy reply! So, Dordeduh! Well I have listened to them much more than NB to be honest, I enjoy it more also. Yes more folky and strangely addictive.

not so much about you (though that is cool too), but this newer data mining is pretty cool. a much more efficient means of dialing in. cheers mate and bang a gong with the downsizing. http://www.last.fm/user/golden_forest/library/music/Skinny+Puppy

Not quite getting that link right. Check self-titled album 1 at the link. good stuff. early cure gets mashed up with slowdive.

Melody of certain damaged lemons still my favorite. misery is a butterfly a very very close second and 23 an ever so close third. glad you are imbibing.

i stopped scrobbling due to some mac itunes incompatibility. not coincidently, i don't play much music through itunes anymore, or through my computer. i play cassettes, lp's and cd's through standalone players like any fetishistic snob. however, i do want to keep in touch and share the wisdom of sages.

the first wouldn't be on my immediate to do list, but if you can score it without significant financial outlay its worth a go. it's my life is worth seeking out. they made a significant leap forward demonstrating that they were hardly a throw away new wave band. they made it known they were on another level than the rest acting that act. i'm a major lanegan fan as well. i'll take care of you and whiskey for the holy ghost are killer platters.

Your friend is wise. I'd have given you the same advice. Let me know if you need further Lanegan recommendations :-D

i stopped paying attention after 'songs of faith and devotion'. 'black celebration' is my favorite i think mostly because of timing. summer 86 was a heady period. i don't know why all music is a bit dismissive of 'a broken frame' and construction time again' cause i think they're great. the track 'pipeline' is crazy good.

i love Peter's solo stuff. in fact, i like it more than Bauhaus...because i've never much liked Bauhaus at all. Cascade is definitely in my top few by him. also Dust, which is a lot darker and "world influenced" if you know what i mean. the last one he put out though...afraid that one was terrible.

"The terrace opposite stops short in the grey air, thick with moisture, revealing vistas of factories, tower blocks, endless tightly patterned semi's... hills in the distance. Sometimes the factories work at night -- the noise can be heard in the house, filtering through dreams: dull, percussive, hypnotic."
