I have a huge OST collection (essencially MGM musicals from 40s and 50s) but this is the first time I come up to write about one.
Superman Returns from John Ottman and Damon Intrabartolo is amazing, and it seems to be even more each listening. Ottman is experienced in composing for hero-films, and his work in "X2: X-Men United and Fantastic Four" is notable as well.
It seems weird at a first glace to see a whole OST under 1978's Superman signature from John Williams, but it's more than you can expect. Watch the movie, listen to the OST afterwards. You will never leave the romantic atmosphere of the film!
