This month, or this year? >;o) So far this month I am digging two very different styles (1) the Warlocks, a downtempo, shoegaze group best known for droning, heavy guitars and (2) SPC ECO which is the remnants of one of my favorite groups (Curve) best knows for their outre lyrics and independent persona. If I had to pick two songs from both groups, give "Moving Mountains" a try from Warlocks and "Gone" from SPC ECO. Hope you like!

Ahh so much fun! And Chicago is such a beautiful city! I did get quite sunburned, but hopefully I'll go home with a nice tan :P I just left Chicago this morning actually, and now am in New York. Did you see Cut Copy? I had such a proud moment watching them and seeing how much the crowd seemed to love it :)

Too many to name lol, and it always changes with my moods. I'm always looking for new music though. I'm glad we're not even "super"... meaning you have a library I can raid haha. What do you think of the new Coldplay single?

Wow thanks so much for all that. I think there are some free concerts at Millenium Park while I'm around, so I'll definitely go check out the park and see some music while I'm at it :) Navy Pier seems like a lovely way to get out and see the skyline. Looks like there's fireworks on the weekends during Summer, so that would be nice. Chicago looks like a really beautiful city. I'll only be there for 6 nights, and Pitchfork will take up a lot of my time there, but I'll definitely try fit in some sightseeing too. Thanks for your tips!

I was in the graduated last year in the Interactive Arts and Media dept...i ended up just doing web development. I'm waiting to see the daily line ups for Lolla to see a few band, but i'm looking forward to death cab and frightened rabbit at UIC. That should be a good show.

Wait, they were in Rock Island last Spring? That's hilarious, because I lived out there last spring lolol, I went to Augustana College. I got into them last May-June because of last.fm radio. Anywho, yes I did! I enjoyed the show a loooooot! I love their new version of Cubism Dream and the energy when they played Sun Hands was craaaaaaazy. I wish the crowd was a bit more into it early on, but that's such a small complaint, the band did awesome as usual. I can't wait to hear new stuff myself!

Ah danke! Your taste is p awesome too, I need to listen to the bands you listen to. I'm really excited for the Local Natives this week, I saw them in September at the Metro and it was wonderful, I talked to the bassist for a lil bit =D. We gotta get the Conaway Center SUPER early for this one, so many people are going -_-

Oh, man, I'm going to try and get there early and get some spots up front. I heard that they already found a place to record and that they're going to start making some new stuff, but if you really want some stuff, there's a couple songs called "Only Son" and "Careful" that aren't new but also aren't on the album. Plus, they used to be called Cavil At Rest and there's a few albums under that name. Kind of a different sound though

You have great taste too! I'm really excited for them this Friday. I've been listening to their album for a while now, and I heard that they're great live so I'm guessing you think so too? And about the concert, Freelance Whales had a lot more energy than I thought they would, which was surprisingly decent, and Foals just blew my mind. The whole crowd was singing and dancing and Yannis climbed on top of things.

Cut copy is from my hometown, Melbourne. Electro dancey stuff. I'm not a huge fan really, but I think it will be nice to see a band I'm so familiar with in such an unfamiliar place =P The Dismemberment Plan is a 90's band. I dont know heaps of their stuff, but 90's rock is pretty much my favourite haha Now that more of the lineup has come to light I'm much much more excited. Particularly for Guided By Voices. Those guys are legends! Yeah there's big camping festivals over here like The Falls Festival, and Splendour in the Grass (which I havent been to before but may do this year). But I prefer the Vibe of Meredith Music Festival.. it's much smaller, but is in the most beautiful spot and always has a well chosen lineup :) Is there anything in particular in Chicago you'd suggest I check out? I really dont know much about the place..

Well some of the artists (tv on the radio and fleet foxes) double up on the festivals I'm going to in the UK, but thats ok. I think I'm most anticipating the dismemberment plan and animal collective so far because I haven't seen them before. And to see cut copy all the way the US will be nice. Really hoping some more goodies pop up in future announcements though!
