Realizing how much I love the language I grew up around, it is time to divide my playlist into two — one that features tracks in English and other languages, and one that features songs that are sung in German only. It's been a tricky choice sometimes, since the German also includes songs like Helden, and the global one gives you German artists like ashore and Gudrun Gut, but, hey, tough shit.
The German is a bit more kitsch, featuring Vicky Leandros, Wolke, MIA., and even Nana Mouskouri.
The global one has my all-time favorites in it, among them Smog, Kate Bush, Swayzak, William Basinski, and Prince.
