Thanks for accepting. I've already seen a few of your posts at the forums ,but the ones that I liked the most was your quotations. I hope you don't mind if I use some of them (I'm running out of good quotes so I tend to reuse some of the older ones :D) I was kind of hesitant to send you a friend request to be honest because of our musical compatibility. My name is Reggie by the way. I wish you a pleasant day mam :)

Good evening dearest Mualla! Thank you so much for your recommendation! I have never heard of Çağatay Akyol before, so will definitely get myself familiar with his work. As for my city, i am going home in July for the whole month! I haven't been at home for 6 long years, so i'm thrilled to visit my family, friends and to see again some beautiful parks and gardens in Saint-Petersburg! Being away from home is the hardest thing in life, when you love your home so much. Wishing you the most beautiful upcoming weekend my dearest friend <3

Good evening dearest Mualla! How lovely of you to have stopped by and leave that sweet comment of yours! :-)) Misha Mishenko was my first listen that day. I have discovered him by accident, thanks to Ólafur Arnalds. Apparently they were performing together in Saint-Petersburg on the 4th of May. Pity i was not there, or i would have gone to see them! Thank you so much for such charming piece by Lou Harrison. That violin was singing beautifully! And Vassilis Tsabropoulos is wonderful as always! I have loved his work ever since i came across ''Chants, Hymns and Dances'' album by him and Anja Lechner. I hope you are having a wonderful spring weather over where you are. I guess spring in Ireland got delayed because it's rather cold and wet...but that's normal :-)) Sending you many hugs my dear Mualla! <3

Bonjour, Mualla, I am thankful for your recommendation, I always appreciate them, Çınar Apay - Zenne sounds very interesting, it is a pan flute? It reminds me the relaxing songs of Indian cultures from the middle and south america. Fazil Say is now one of my favourite composers and interpreters in the sphere of contemporary music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PRt11e7ojk This is amazing, you have to listen it, I wish you very nice sunny and relaxing sunday afternoon my friend. Greetings!

Descrizione

19 May the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day (Atatürk'ü Anma, Gençlik ve spor Bayramı), is an annual Turkish national holiday celebrated on May 19 to commemorate Mustafa Kemal's landing at Samsun on May 19, 1919, which is regarded as the beginning of the Turkish War of Independence in the official historiography.

"Freedom and independence are my personality. I am a man filled with the love of independence which is my nation's greatest and my ancestors' most precious legacy. This love of mine is known by those who are closely familiar with every branch of my family and my private and professional life from my childhood days till now. In my opinion, in order for honor, personality, pride and humanity to come into existence and survive in a nation, it certainly has to have its freedom and independence. I personally consider very important to these virtues I have mentioned. And in order to argue that I have these innate virtues, I consider it to be a prerequisite that my nation be endowed with the same virtues. I must remain as the son of an independent nation in order to survive. That’s why, to me, national independence is a matter of life or death. If the interests of my nation and homeland require it, I assess the relations of friendship and politics with every nation in humanity with great sincerity. However, I would be the inexorable enemy of any nation wanting to enslave my nation until I make them give up their desire."

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician.
I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”
~ Albert Einstein

Painting:
Vincent van Gogh. (Dutch, 1853-1890).
The Starry Night Saint Remy, June 1889

Lyrics and Music:
Don McLean, Vincent 1971.

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,
Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning fields of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

I myself am quite absorbed by the delicate yellow, delicate soft green, delicate violet of a ploughed and weeded piece of soil.
- Vincent van Gogh

I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day. ~Vincent Van Gogh

Mais tu as des cheveux couleur d'or.

Istanbul - Uzak English title: Distant by Nuri Bilge Ceylan
Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Turkish filmmaker and photographer

Uzak [Distant]
Uzak is a great turkish movie that tells us about “the meaninglessness of life” in a very meaningful way. The story is about two very strong characters, a man and his cousin. the man, mahmut, is a strong character whose life is at distant with peoples around him because his self-prideness, which costs him his married life and his awkward relationship with yusuf, his cousin from a rural village seeking job in Istanbul...
