No matter they started business more than forty years ago. Well, maybe they do not have as much energy and craze on stage as they did… still they manage to deliver a superb show and doing funny things on stage. Specially memorable was the moment when Matthias Jabs played the final part of a song lying on the floor: that was so Spinal Tap! But not as memorable (and emotive) as Tarja Turunen joining them for singing The Good Die Young and dedicating the song to the victims of the attacks in Norway. I almost shed a tear.
The track list was full of classic tunes (everyone knows them, huh?), mixed up with some tracks from their latest album, Sting in the Tail. Usually the songs from the just-released album are a bit less known to people attending concerts by old-timers like the Scorpions, but surprisingly most people was singing along all the songs, not just the classics. There was a couple of acoustic interludes (Send me an Angel and the beginning of Holiday), and a huge solo by James Kottak covering songs from all post-1979 albums accompanied by projections of parts of the corresponding video clips.
All in all, it was almost two hours of pure rock entertainment by a legendary band. Absolutely recommended.
