Fri 17 Jun – The Grates, Big Scary, Guineafowl
So yeah, I forgot to write this review but I'll do it now from memory! I didn't really pay attention to the first two bands of the night, Big Scary and Guineafowl, but I think I saw some of the former. We only really started paying proper attention when the Grates started.
I must admit I'm not a hugely mad Grates fan. Seen 'em a few times and they always put on a great show. And they do have some really good songs, my favourites including Rock Boys, Science is Golden and Trampoline. Oh and, of course Sukkafish.
I can't find a setlist anywhere online, and I don't know most of these guys' songs, so all I can say is that they definitely played those first three songs but can't remember what else they played. Except 19-20-20, of course they played that. Hehe.
One of the really fun parts (other than seeing people in the crowd trying to do the Patience dances. hehe) was when Patience crowdsurfed nearly the back of the crowd then walked back through it.
If there's anything you can guarantee about a Grates show, it's that you're going to be entertained in some way. ;)
