  • third party compression versus the mp3

i just visited the winamp website to update my player and saw a plugin for compressing your mp3s into ogg format. i didnt know what the hell ogg was but ive been hearing about it and other file types a lot lately. so i did a qwick binge of research and came up with this basic rule:\

ogg and flac both compress an audio file to a smaller size while still keeping the quality of song/audio track intact. hehe

sounds pretty good. now for the fun part. compressing your libraries into these new formats. its no easy task im sure. is the cost of morphing your library in time worth the better sound quality and space saved-ness?
