Like A Prayer reminds of one time I was walking from my main school building to the sports centre at the junior school to do rugby or hockety or something. I was either really late or really early setting off, so my friends weren't there, allowing me to listen to my iPod. For some reason, this one song has stuck with me ever since, despite the listening of it in that context doesn't seem particularly memorable. I think it was around the time of my crisis of faith (i.e I realised God wasn't real), and though not actually about that kinds thing (Oh Father would have suited better), the religious connotations that both the song and the video have (the way it challenges common belief) were obviously affecting.
Glory of The 80's will always remind of my 8th family trip to Orlando, Florida. I bought To Venus And Back for the 4 week holiday, and as one of the new albums I had, I played it to death. My baby cousin (who I sat beside in out people carrier everywhere we went) bought ashaking intrument thing, that sounded just like the very start of GOT80's. It was so upbeat and fun, matching the trip. Lust and Suede from the same album, as well as I'm Not In Love (from Strange Little Girls, the other Tori album I bought, though actually in Florida) remind me of the muggy, humid climate, while still representing something I love.
More to come. :)
