Honestly, this year I sucked. 62 plays to get into the top 20, and a handful of stuff in there that I didn't love at all. Minimal stuff from 2010. I blame hard-drive failure and work stress and a CD/radio/podcast renaissance that could not be measured.

Still: loved 16 or 17 of these, there's some great stuff here. I'm only disappointed I didn't take the time to internalise a few of them more. 2011 is, I hope as much as ever, going to be a big year for me and music, and fingers crossed I'll be revisiting some of these hits as much as the acres of new stuff that'll stretch out ahead of me. But goodness, listening to new stuff is exhausting.

Aus' Antwarps was my top album and the remainder of the list is basically as above, with a slightly variable order. Of all these bands I think it's only Model Warships and Minus The Bear where I was concerned with multiple albums…so.

Cursive bossed the individual track plays, because Domestica is crazily good I guess. Individual tracks that are amazing: Double Dagger's The Lie/The Truth, Aus' Hero of the Paper Boy, Inside's Jill Came Tumbling After, Oxbow's Down A Stair Backward, Arms' Shittly Little Disco, and Touche Amore's Cadence sounded pretty great too.

In 2010 I saw GY!BE live and they were pretty great and I couldn't be more glad. I hope everyone reading this and anyone who cares have a great 2011 in terms of music and whatever else. I'll try harder this year, promise.
