fucking epic playlist: for oscar wilde

Ago 10 2009, 3:14

This is the second-longest playlist I have ever made (the first being 2+ hours) and the fact that it is about/dedicated to Oscar Wilde only highlights my faggotry.

(best listened to with gaps between sides, bonus tracks, etc. Wherever breaks are, basically. I used the thirty-second gap from Guster's Keep It Together CD.)

Obligatory pretentious title: The Endless Coloured Ways

Rufus Wainwright - Do I Disappoint You
Nick Drake - 'Cello Song
The Velvet Underground - I'll Be Your Mirror
The Hidden Cameras - Learning the Lie
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - I Am Warm & Powerful
The Frames - The Cost
The Doors - End of the Night
Harvey Milk - My Broken Heart Will Never Mend
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Today I Was an Evil One
John Barry - Midnight Cowboy
The Hidden Cameras - Shame
Queen - My Melancholy Blues

Transitory track: Barenaked Ladies - Call and Answer

Midlake - You Never Arrived
Jens Lekman - If I Could Cry (It Would Feel Like This)
Pulp - The Fear
Shearwater - The Convert
Harvey Milk - Sunshine (No Sun) Into the Sun
The Beatles - Let It Be
Nick Drake - Fruit Tree
Leopold Stokowski - Danse Macabre
Rufus Wainwright - Leaving For Paris No. 2
Arcade Fire - Crown of Love

A caveat: this has been relatively settled for a month now, but I'd say it's still in flux; I just decided to try out 'Call And Answer', for instance, and am considering adding some more instrumentals if I can find copies of them. (For instance, the score from the Merchant-Ivory film 'Maurice'...) Eh, we'll see.

The first Milk song you picked is the most beautiful song they offer and the second one you picked is the most evil. Just wanted to say that.
