I love it, but they are pretty much my band. It's closer to the A Blessing And A Curse... like a better executed version of that album. There are the customary couple clunkers, IMO, but I am used to that. By the way, I do have the Dawes album, planning on listening soon.

Will definitely have to check it out then. I have been on the most massive Stones kick of my life lately, though.

Howdy! How's the family? I'll have to check that one out.

I'm really only vaguely familiar with either of those bands. Moreso with the Deep Dark Woods. I've been listening to a lot of the same stuff as always, and more older stuff. Nothing really new has caught my ear in a while. Nice to hear from you!

Wow. That is all big news. Good to hear. And yes, I love the Panda songs still. Avey's are hit or miss for me. It's definitely the best AC album I have heard.

I must admit, the first two songs by your boy Panda from the new AC that have leaked are pretty much phenomenal... "My Girls" is front runner for best song of '09 already, as far as I am concerned.

I just fell in love with the DBT album. I think because I fell in love with Mike Cooley's writing - especially on Southern Rock Opera - and his stuff on the new one (particularly A Ghost To Most) is top notch. And they are SO good live that it just takes it to another level. I have seen them three times this year and each one was better than the one before it. I do agree that this has been a pretty weak year, but next year looks strong considering all the good bands releasing albums.

I listened to Colossal Youth for the first time a few months ago and was like "how the hell did I never hear of this band before?". It is great.

I'm glad Fatherhood is going well and you got a good one! Speaking of creepy dolls, have you seen these "reborns"? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26970782/

Despite being down with a cold, I feel great. Yes we can, yes we did! :D How is fatherhood treating you?

Well, then maybe I will. I went on a Roxy Music kick a couple years ago, I think. I am a fan of them for sure. Stranded is my favorite. Probably because I am a bigger fan of Ferry than Eno. I also like Siren quite a bit. Great band. As far as shows, I am going to see Dylan on Wednesday in La Crosse, and then DBT and THS next week in Chicago, and probably Bon Iver and Tallest Man in December in Madison. Didn't you see Bon Iver and Bondy in MPLS? I saw them in Milwaukee and it was fantastic. Later.

I don't see it in your list, and since we haven't talked in a while... I really do urge you to give a listen to the new DBT record. I can send it to you if you like, even. Hope all's well with Audrey and yourself.
