Spanish Review Traslated (English)
| Beto Vazquez Infinity |
From Argentina lands in our hands the new record of this brilliant musician and composer called Beto Vázquez. The title chosen for his last disc of study is "Darkmind" and in this occasion, how is being habitual in his works, he has been covered by several professional companions . We refer to musicians like Olaf Thorsen (Vision Divine, Labirinth) or Eddy Antonini (Skylark). Of these collaborations also shine other enormous feminine voices like Kiara (Skylark), Sandra Schleret (Elis) or Marcela Bovio (Ayreon) among others artists...
The CD comes folded in a digipack edition perfectly decorated according to the title: this girl enveloped between clouds and black tonalities invites us to enter Beto Vázquez's Infinity darkmind.
The theme that opens "Darkmind" is entitled " From your heart ", an orchestrated intro that gives us the welcome to the sonorous universe of this work, accompanied at all time by the sweet feminine voices more the keyboard wich sounds like a clavichord.
The introduction gives a step to " Kingdom of Liberty ", a powermetal composition with a frantic double bass-drum where stand out Sabrina Carrión's voice (Heavenfalls) and the alternated "solos" of guitar and keyboard.
Once our heart has been accelerated, it comes " Magical moments of time " to calm it down. An angelic composition, due to Jessica Letho's voice, with a narration towards the final part on roll of drum that reminds us the Finns of Nightwish.
"Mystic" appears later with Manda Ophuis's voice, a short theme where H.J's magnificent work stands out in the "solos" of guitar.
There comes the moment to listen to the song that gives title to the record, "Darkmind". It begins very relaxed with the bass like protagonist under the accompaniment of a keyboard. Once the guitars give him the sign, enters Víctor Rivaróla's deep voice that will progressively accelerate the theme, supported by the choirs. The voice leads to the bass under the purest galloping style of Steve Harris and to the "solo" that reminds us maiden.
The number six is titled " For time Runs in my veins " that appears with a keyboard wich remembers Nightwish's "Nemo". It's a very melodic theme where Elisa Luna's voice doubled to give major consistency to the vocal melody.
Like was done in his first album " Through times Part III ",, in the following theme " Sleeping in the shadows " he also includes a beautiful and perfect melody of a sax. It is a song that helps us plunge into the most absolute tranquility, thanks to the sound of the saxophone (that fits perfectly) and Sandra Schleret's sweet voice.
Let's see now " Chronicles of a World without gods ", another powermetal theme with a very marked double bass-drum and Kiara's unleashed voice where stands out at the end the great "solo" by Beto Vázquez .
The ninth theme " Close your eyes " comes like a ballad, on a sound of a very clean piano accompanying Jessica Letho's voice at all time. This theme reminds the already classic one " Glory to the brave " of the Swedish Hammerfall.
" Follow the Moonlight " does the dozen. A half time where Jessica Letho repeats in the mike. The voice of this girl remembers very much Tarja Turunen (ex--Nightwish).
" Memories of reinglow " closes the disc. Probably the most Gothic theme of all the compilation where Ivana has the premiere singing in attitudes nearer soprano (it's also inevitable to compare her with Tarja). Very harmonized, adorned with choirs,"solos" and a lot of keyboard.
if we still have desire for more Beto Vázquez Infinity, we count with a bonus track. The innovation that contributes this song is that it is sung completely in Spanish by Marcela Bovio. Another ballad with orchestral base that puts the cherry to this cake in the shape of CD called "Darkmind".
After giving the attention that it deserved, I must say to you that it is a high recommended disc, which take the most of every guest musician contribution lead by Beto Vázquez's great creative talent.
In the record he made a talented mix between the most accelerated themes with the half times without leaving of side the ballads. This makes the listen a pleasure and not monotonous, all thanks to the variety of the atmospheres that take us from the power to the most classic heavy metal following for the Gothic. The orchestrations are placed in the right quote , without abusing them, and give the sufficient support to the other instruments.
The CD will be enjoyed for the lovers of bands with feminine vocalist and like we said before it'll remind in many passages groups like Nightwish, After Forever or Epica. Those who do not sympathize with the mentioned groups will miss the masculine voices, they appear in counted occasions, but this aspect doesn't influence in the good musical structure of the disc (simply it has been the choiceof the composer).
If to all the previous we add the good production that has obtained a notable and fluid sound, we are in front of a very good record work.
