First, the obligatory intro. Because you can't spread a meme without the parameters. So I was reading some of the memes out there and I ran across one that I thought was kind of interesting. You were to play your neighbour radio station, list the first ten artist that came up and your feelings about them. I tried it and eh. It was okay. Two artists I didn’t like. One I never heard of but was iffy on and the rest old favorites. So I thought I’d try something I thought was more interesting to me personally. I thought I would do each of my friends radio stations. List the particular song as well as artist and give my reaction to it.
I do not know Sabberworm. He isn’t a friend. He’s someone who looked at my page. So I looked at his. Then I wanted to listen to his radio station because I needed something to listen to at work and I didn’t want to be distracted by doing a meme for one of my friends who I would feel obligated to do because…well because I’m neurotic and if I listen to a friend station right now I HAVE to do a meme. Anyhoo, I heard the first song and just couldn’t stop myself. So here we have it…
Taste-o-meter: Very High
1. Future mothers I loved this song. Now this a group I never heard of before and will definitely be looking out for some more of.
2. Where There’s Gold Oh, I always had a soft spot in my heart for Seal.
3. Sick ‘n’ Tired Never heard of Ms. Dynamite before. It was good. I wasn’t blown away. Although…I could see how this could grow on me. I’d have to hear more to make a real judgment. But isn’t that always the case?
4. Get Busy Another new artist to me. And yet another I am enjoying. Nice.
5. I Heard it Through the Grape Vine Ah, a classic.
6. You Never Know Not sure a bout this. It’s a little grating. But I’m thinking it might be my circumstances instead. I mean I’m at work. I’m sick. I have a little headache. Cause it does seem pretty in there somewhere.
7. Walking on Sunshine Ok I almost skipped this immediately on principal. JLo ick. But I listened because I wasn’t sure what it was that made me anti-Jennifer. Turns out it’s because I really don’t like her music. I also noticed a trend in my personal station listening. So far I’ve hated almost everyones 7th or 8th track. Weird.
8. Lumberjack Song No way! Nice.
9. Intro Because of the kind of song it is I’m not sure I learned about Kelis. What I heard was quite fun though. Sexy.
10. Vox Just beautiful. I love Sarah McLachlan.
I was really glad I did that. It makes me listen much more closely to the music. And well, I found some stuff I liked. And some stuff I already knew I liked that was fun to hear again. And a video, huh?
