You have intelligence in music, my friend! :D Their music, to me, has not yet expanded past what they know because they are too afraid to try anything new, and are trying too hard to be indie and stay out of the mainstream. (hate that!) The strong, and brave, artists of the past always took risks, especially in times when music was more of a challenge. Not anyone was a musician back then. :) And I think that's why you can turn on the top 40 radio, and wouldn't be hearing the same boring, annoying sound over and over again.
