beep beep twinkling twinkling
do you hear the beeping sound on the intro?
mute math's "stare at the sun" reminds me of the recent lunar eclipse.
I was on my campus rooftop waiting for the enigmatic moment. waiting to capture a frame of the shrouded moon.
alone.
lone with my camera. none with friends.
couples of people were standing on the same roof.
what were they waiting for? didn't care so much about them.
I put my ear bud back. and they left
listen contemplatively to the sound.and they stayed
that beeping sound. that melancholy rolling drums.
was I possessed?
was I possessed while I was staring eastward?
while I was seeking the glimpse behind the grim sky?
I was afraid
I was afraid. I think.
I presumed my conscience had drifted away
dripped through the heavy wave of throbbing melodies in my brain
I was appalled by the twinkling horror
by that flickering sound of wry light

at last

that night
the lunar revealed her blanket
however, I didn't see anything there
and will never see anything there
just the glare had become
all that I'll ever see there
