I did have to pad the playlist out with some well known tracks, but hopefully it's worth a play. I remember Saddle Up. Major cheese! :-) My profile pic is Sentinel One from The Space Sentinels from the late 70s. It's funny you mention it being like a weird dream, as for years I could sort of remember it, but thought maybe I was combining various memories into something that never existed. Then I asked if anyone else remembered it on a web forum, and someone knew what it was (and also that I wasn't mad!). Sentinel One was a talking computer/hologram (like you remember), and the three heroes were Hercules (strong blonde guy), Mercury (Asian American speedy guy), and Astrea (African American disco babe who could change into animals). There was a little robot called Mo as well, though I don't remember a Busby. I watched one a while back for some nostalgia, and it was a cheesy as expected, though did have some pretty great music.

Does make sense indeed. Something can be contemporary AND nostalgic, think that's what you're describing.

Will try your recommends shortly. Love discovering unknown music, don't know if you've seen these but they're my latest crush: http://www.last.fm/music/Flight+Facilities

Thanks for accepting the FR. You were in my list of neighbours and spotted you like some classic disco. If you've not heard them all ready, I'd recommend Love to Fly by Venus Gang, Space Woman by Herman's Rocket or Like an Eagle by Dennis Parker. Some lesser known great bits of music. If there's anything you recommend, I'm always willing to listen to new [old] stuff.
